 Hi,

I  want  to  know  whether  is  it  feasable  to  purchase  the  2  months  used  ADA  substract.  Will  it  deliver  the  same  results  as  the  new  one  and  how  long  will  it  be  usefull  for  my  tank.

FYI..     Actually  i  am  buying  it  from  one  of  my  friend.

 Thanks,
 Sandeep  Gandhi

Go  ahead  and  use.  No  issues.
Bhushan  has  reused  the  substrate  many  times.

Just  because  it  is  2  months  old  does  not  mean  all  the  initial  hassels  will  disappear.
You  have  to  go  through  the  lot,  waterchanges  etc.,  as  normal.

As  Madan  mentioned  I  have  used  the  same  Aquasoil  for  about  3  years  now.  Make  sure  the  soil  is  still  mostly  in  granular  form  before  you  buy  it.  If  it  is  still  in  your  friends  tank  carefully  scoop  it  out  into  a  bucket/  tub.  Do  not  try  to  move  it  around  too  much.  Let  it  out  to  dry  in  the  sun  for  a  couple  of  weeks.  After  that  you  should  be  able  to  use  it  just  like  new  Aquasoil.  I  would  recommend  topping  it  off  with  a  very  thin  layer  of  new  Aquasoil  so  that  the  disintegrated  soil  does  not  cloud  the  water  too  much.  Be  very  careful  filling  up  the  tank.

Thanks  for  the  quick  response  Bhushan...,

I  have  already  scooped  the  soil  from  my  friend's  tank,  but  could  not  avoid  the  mixing  of  power  sand  with  it,  so  will  it  be  harmfull  for  the  Plants/Fishes  of  my  tank  ?   Shocked

Also  could  you  please  tell  me  how  much  quantity  of  Amazonia  II  soil  is  required  for  my  3ft  X  1.5  ft  X  1.5  ft  tank,  I  have  lot  of  plants  in  it  and  currently  i  am  using  Aqua  Clay  as  a  substract.

From  which  LFS  i  can  get  one  more  bag  of  Aqua  soil  Amazonia  II  in  bangalore.

 Thanks,
 Sandeep  Gandhi

Power  sand  mixed  in  the  soil  is  actually  good.  You  will  need  at  least  3  -  9  liter  bags  of  Aquasoil  if  you  are  not  planning  to  use  any  decorating  sand.
