 Nice.

 Forgot  to  ask  about  the  black  silicone.  Can  you  let  us  know  the  manufacturer  details  and  if  you  were  able  to  source  it  locally?

 Hi,

 I  source  these  myself  rohan.  Not  sure  if  your  local  aquarium  shop  would  have  the  same.  Dont  want  to  mention  Mfg  or  Brand,  cause  i  did  not  want  this  thread  to  be  something  where  i  am  promoting  the  brands  i  sell.  Hope  you  understand  sorry.  Will  PM  you  details  if  need  be.

 @update.

 I  am  going  to  be  holding  making  the  new  tank  right  now.  Just  ordered  this  product  on  Ebay  and  am  going  to  wait  for  it  to  arrive.  Its  suppose  to  give  a  super  finish  to  Silicone  work.  I  always  kept  wondering  how  on  earth  did  folks  abroad  make  tanks  with  such  beautiful  finish.  I  guess  now  i  know  the  answer.  They  dont  use  fingers  !

 Updates  from  the  work  today.

 Got  the  glass  for  the  back  partitions  and  drilled  them.  Below  are  some  pics,  Sorry  for  the  bad  quality.  Also  have  not  yet  cleaned  the  glass  surface,  thought  will  let  all  the  silicone  work  be  complete  and  then  give  a  final  trim  to  the  silicone  and  do  the  cleaning.

 Here  is  the  Skimmer.  A  Weipro  2003  model.

 The  Drill  tools,  The  second  pic  is  the  RPM  controller,  very  helpful  to  avoid  the  nasty  slip  off  jerks  and  gives  you  a  nice  finish.

 Here  is  the  drill  hole.

 Feel  free  to  add  any  suggestions.  One  thing  i  though  was  that  i  could  have  done  a  12"  height  instead  of  10"  and  thats  what  i  may  do  when  i  get  the  new  tank  done.  It  will  fit  the  skimmer  better.

 Nirav,
 How  does  one  clean  the  sump/filter  at  the  back?  Or  is  it  a  fait  accompli.  It  really  looks  good  and  that  black  glass  is  a  very  smart  idea.  You  can  faintly  see  through  it  and  monitor  what  is  happening.  I'm  dying  to  see  how  this  turns  out  as  it's  the  way  i  think  I'll  go  now.  Nanos  are  the  way  to  go  because  the  learning  is  much  faster  :-)
 Is  there  a  quarantine  tank  on  the  cards  too?  i  already  have  a  Boyu  tank  (15  inchs  by  8  in  by  8  in)  unit  with  an  overhead  filter  and  I  got  some  fantastic  results  yesterday  when  you  gave  me  the  cooling  fans.  Temperatures  came  down  from  29.5  degress  C  to  24  degrees  this  morning.
 Hope  it's  good  for  the  moss.
 When  do  we  get  to  see  and  check  out  the  tank  ourselves?
 Ashok  Row  Kavi

 Hi  Ashok,

 Yes  one  does  have  to  clean  the  mechanical  media  sponge  that  i  intend  to  use  and  the  skimmer  once  in  a  while.  I  am  going  to  do  it  once  in  every  15days.  For  Biological  since  i  am  largely  going  to  be  using  some  LR  Rubble,  that  would  not  need  cleaning.

 Glad  to  know  the  fans  helped.  Thank  the  heat  in  delhi  and  low  humidity  for  it  :)

 For  the  tank  we  can  go  this  weekend.  going  to  Vaishno  devi  tomorrow.  So  wont  be  in  town  till  Saturday.

 Warm  Regards

 no  lights  as  of  now.....some  amount  of  light  falls  on  the  marine  tank  through   my  planted  tank...  Very Happy

 so  in  all  i  spent.....Rs.5xxx

 currently  in  its  17th  day  of  cycling.....

 @blue

 Well  Salinity  is  a  challenge  one  will  have  to  always  face  in  Nano  Tanks.  I  plan  to  use  a  small  Auto  Top  off  unit  DIY  constuction  using  a  float  valve  to  go  in  later,  once  i  have  the  basics  setup.

 @update.

 Today  i  have  attached  the  spray  bar,  the  return  filter,  the  skimmer  and  added  the  water.

 I  got  rid  of  the  tall  peice  of  rock  that  was  stuck  on  the  left  side,  Just  did  not  like  the  look  of  it.  Will  keep  looking  for  some  real  good  peice  till  i  get  the  other  tank  made  out.

 Will  post  pics  in  a  few  hours.

 Warm  Regards

 @updates.

 Have  added  the  prepared  water  into  the  tank.  A  total  of  23ltrs.  Here  are  the  pics.

 This  one  is  the  return  chamber,  Had  a  small  pump  of  600l/h  lying  around  spare  so  used  it  and  next  to  it  is  the  LR  rubble  in  the  middle  chamber.

 The  Next  two  pics  are  the  skimmers  in  action.

 This  is  the  main  tank  now.  Just  redid  a  bit  of  the  rock  work.

 I  havent  really  spent  time  to  finish  the  silicone  here.  Since  i  am  eventually  going  to  be  making  a  new  tank.  So  will  do  the  same  then  and  at  that  time  i  intend  to  use  this  tank  as  the  sump  for  that  tank.

 The  lighting  right  now  is  again  an  old  fitting  from  my  aquarium  yard  from  old  tanks.  Houses  2  X  6500K  tubes  of  10W  each.  Will  eventually  be  doing  up  a  LED  fixture  on  this  one.  Following  on  PK's  Thread  for  the  same.   Thumb Up

 Feel  Free  to  add  any  suggestions.  Should  be  adding  some  zoanthids  to  this  tank  pretty  soon.

 Warm  Regards

 Congrats  for  completing  the  tank  and  starting  off  the  whole  process  of  making  it  iivable.  Now  what  is  the  zoanthid  and  will  the  next  tank  be  as  big  as  this  one.  How  will  you  use  this  as  a  sump?  Will  you  drill  the  next  tank  back  and  use  a  overflow  system  into  this  sump?

 Also  Nirav,  I've  sent  you  a  private  message  regarding  the  tank  i  want.

 Is  that  some  kind  of  algae  growth  on  the  rocks  encircled  below?

 Also,  how  often  do  you  recommend  stirring  the  sand  bed  in  such  kind  of  a  setup?

 Regards,
 Rohan.

 @Rohan

 Yes  that  is  Algae  Die  off,  These  rocks  were  just  lying  around  in  an  unattended  tub.  Thought  this  would  be  good  to  get  the  tank  cycling,  since  the  rocks  would  have  a  good  amount  of  die  off  on  them.

 The  Sand  bed  since  its  not  very  thick,  i  may  not  stir  it  very  often,  may  be  once  in  6  months.  Will  test  my  parameters  and  take  a  call.

 @Ashok

 Yes  the  next  tank  will  be  of  the  same  size  and  i  will  drill  the  tank  for  the  overflow  system.  Zoanthids  are  cnidarians  commonly  found  in  reefs  as  sea  mats,  individual  polyps  attached  by  a  fleshy  formation.

 I  already  replied  to  your  SMS,  not  sure  if  you  got  it.

 @update.

 Got  my  hands  on  some  old  Peltier  chips  that  were  lying  around  in  my  Aquarium  yard.  Trying  to  hack  it  to  become  into  a  probe  based  Chiller  for  this  tank.  Lets  see  how  that  goes.
