Nice  start  Ram.  Required  more  plants/growth  for  the  lushy  effect.

May  I  know  what  is  the  plant  on  the  fifth  picture?

Nice  tank.  But  I  think  you  can  add  the  Blyxas  (?)  and  some  of  the  Rotalas  in  the  portion  bordered  by  the  riftwood  and  rocks

Firstly,  congrats  on  your  achievement(tank  building),  neat  job  I  must  say  Thumb Up  What  I  really  like  about  it  is  that,  it  has  more  depth  than  height,  which  is  ideal  for  any  planted  setup.

But  I  think  theres  too  much  light  over  it(assuming  HDD600  to  be  40w  fixture  each),  gives  a  total  of  nearly  120w.
And  this  light  without  pressurized  CO2  and  dosing  can  do  more  harm  than  good.  Sad

And  I  agree  with  Bappa  on  planting  blyxas.  You  can  also  get  some  low  growing  plants  like  dwarf  anubias  and  crypts  in  the  front  and  blyxas  at  the  back  so  that  the  hardscape  doesnt  gets  completely  hidden  by  plants.

 Nice  start  start  up  Ram.
Do  we  require  8hrs  of  light  for  initial  setup?

 Hi  Ram,

You  choice  of  hardscape  is  not  great  and  the  selection  of  plants  too...  More  over  placement  of  plants  too  is  not  right.

With  the  size  of  of  rocks  and  drift  wood  used,  your  plants  will  over  shodow  the  scape.

If  you  still  insist  on  keeping  this  scape  I  would  suggest  you  only  do  a  glosso  tank  and  dont  try  any  other  plants.

 All  the  best!

 Regards,
 Surya

Thank  you  Anand,  actually  I  have  just  added  those  cuttings  which  I  too  out  from  my  3  footer  will  be  adding  more  plants  in  a  day  or  two.
the  plant  in  the  fifth  picture  is  Heteranthera  zosterifolia.

Thank  you  Bmukh,  even  I  wanted  to  have  Blyxa  japonica  but  I  couldn't  get  it  any  where  here  in  Chennai  but  will  sure  add  when  I  get  it  and  I  am  planing  to  have  Eleocharis  parvula  between  the  rocks  and  drift  and  some  spike  moss  on  the  drift.

Thank  you  Hamza,  actually  I  had  tried  to  build  thank  three  times  cos  I  was  doing  it  my  self  and  didn't  have  any  one  to  help  and  removing  black  silicon  off  the  glass  after  each  time  was  a  pain  in  the  aXX  and  I  got  every  thing  right  on  the  fourth  time.

HDD600  comes  with  52w  Blue  PLL  so  I  had  to  change  the  lights  and  I  couldn't  get  the  same  52W  white  PLL  so  I  have  added  36W  PLL  to  each  on  the  HDD600  so  the  total  lighting  is  72w  which  is  exactly  4w  per  gallon  which  an  sure  is  very  high  but  I  think  will  it  help  Glossostigma  elatinoides  to  spread.  And  Co2  I  have  a  2Kg  cylinder  which  is  empty  so  get  to  refill  it  during  the  week  end.

Thank  you  Saurav,  That  tank  was  ripped  in  just  a  week  or  so  after  setting  it  up  cos  the  Hemianthus  callitrichoides  melted  and  there  was  no  use  of  having  that  tank  any  more.

il  sure  let  you  know  once  the  bettas  are  available  for  give  away  or  sale.

 Hi  Ram

Firstly  i  must  say  you  have  done  a  really  neat  job  of  putting  the  tank  together  +  Liked  your  innovative  way  of  fixing  the  fan  and  Co2  distribution   Smile

With  regards  to  the  scape  i  agree  with  Surya,  the  hardscape  is  weak  and  the  plants  that  you  have  chosen  will  eventually  overshadow  your  hardscape.  Go  through  the  below  link.  it  wil  give  you  some  good  ideas  for  an  Iwagumi  Layout
