 Dear  Friends,

 My  tank  looked  like  this.
 http://indianaquariumhobbyist.com/community/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=17849

Now  it  has  become  like  this...  No  nutrient  rich  substrate,  only  irregular  column  dosing...  resulting  unhealthy  sights!

There  are  some  changes  in  the  physical  setup,  like  hood  and  all.

 With  the  previous  hood

With  the  current  light  from  Prem  -  open  top  look

The  healthier  Fern  -  they  seem  to  be  happy  with  the  liquid  dosing!

They  covered  the  entire  tank  surface-  resulting  to  end  up  in  my  backyard  cement  tank!

The  albino  tiger  barbs:  (for  your  Views  Vignesh!)

 The  Suessewassertang:

I  am  sure  there  exists  a  major  substrate  change  work  for  this  tank!

Experts  please  give  me  some  damage  control  acts!

 Regards

I  can  house  the  overgrown  indian  fern  for  you  Very Happy  and  some  of  the  duck  weed  too  please.

The  Indian  fern  would  eat  up  most  of  the  liquid  dosing.  Its  a  fast  grower  and  so  generally  adviced  for  a  new  setup  during  its  initial  phases.  But  I  love  its  floating  growth.

 Hi  Anand,

Can  you  give  me  the  tank  size  and  filtration?  While  it  does  look  good,  I  am  sure  it  can  look  better.

Thanks  Shubhankar  for  the  kind  words.  But  you  can  see  the  stem  plants  have  been  moved  out  of  the  tank  slowly  withering  and  BBA  taking  up  slowly  the  tank.  That  is  what  I  have  mentioned.

Thanks  Suraj:  Tank  size  36  x  18  x  18,  Eheim  2215  &  Fluval  4  internal  filter  (900lph).  Eheim  flow  has  been  slowed  down  even  after  several  cleaning  measures.  The  Fluval  4  is  working  very  good.  Pressurized  CO2  with  4-5  bps  and  now  54  x  4  T5,  one  being  4500  K  while  other  are  6500  K.

 Regards

How  old  is  the  Eheim  2215?  If  it  is  over  3-4  years  old,  I  would  suggest  a  change  in  impeller.  Check  if  it  is  sucking  in  air  from  the  sides.

The  removal  of  H.  difformis,  will  help  in  other  plants  gaining  a  foothold  and  improving  their  condition.  Please  ensure  that  your  water  changes  are  regular  and  the  plants  will  slowly  show  signs  of  improvement.

Ok  Suraj;  Presently  there  is  no  H.difformis;  I  think  you  meant  the  H.corymbosa.  I  am  removing  them  out.  The  Eheim  2215  is  less  than  a  year  old.  BTW,  from  where  I  could  get  the  Impeller.  I  have  sent  a  pm.

I  am  doing  a  sin  on  water  change  -  I  do  that  every  fortnightly  60-70%.  I  need  to  look  into  that.  Root  tabs  too  I  have  introduced  couple  of  weeks  before  and  seeing  the  Vals  doing  fine  now.  But  dying  to  get  rid  of  the  BBA!

 Thanks  and  regards,

More  water  changes  now  should  help.  Have  you  cleaned  your  impeller?  One  year  is  too  low  for  a  canister  to  give  you  reduced  flow.

There  might  some  obstruction  there  which  is  restricting  flow  or  the  head  is  pulling  in  some  air.  Do  you  see  any  bubbles  in  your  output  tubing?

I  am  cleaning  the  impeller  every  45  -60  days,  when  I  clean  the  filter.  There  are  no  bubbles  in  the  outlet;  From  the  outlet  I  am  not  seeing  the  jet  of  stream  but  a  flow  as  if  from  moderately  supplied  corpration  water  tap!

 Regards

Trim  and  discard  the  bottom  portion  of  all  your  stem  plants  and  make  a  50%  water  change  before  replanting  them.  This  should  help.  Clean  the  moss  and  the  Subwassterang  in  flowing  water  to  remove  debris  stuck  on  them.
