Me and a friend of mine had been on a collection today and collected something really weird,
something i thought never existed in Indian waters, atleast not in the place where we collected it,
it was collected in a puddle formed when one of the lakes had dried up making a gap between this puddle and the lake, the thing i am talking about is the FAIRY SHRIMP,
Want to know whether its a native or what??
here are a few pics attached,
also other fish collected are regulars,
here are the pics fo the Fairy shrimp,
have set up a tank for them and planning to culture them,
Fairy Shrimp. If you carry the substrate from that puddle back home, there are good chances of cysts for running a culture.
if i go and collect the substrate will i have to dry it for a few days and re-wet it again so the eggs hatch or will they hatch automatically?
i read somewhere that the eggs should be dried and re-wetted so they hatch,

We have also caught the fairy shrimps (yes, I am trying to sound smart, even when it is yet under a minute I found out what these creaturea are! ) in Pune too. These were found in a puddle after heavy non seasonal rains. didn't try to culture the guys, but will do it now, with some research on them. My bettas love them!
