 I  want  to  dose  vodka  and  amino  acids  into  my  nano  marine  tank.

 Does  anyone  know  a  good  source  of  amino  acid?  Any  source  commonly  available  in  the  market?

 pree  dose  amino's  only  if  you  wanna  grow  SPS  ...  if  you  are  not  carry  SPS  like  acros  and  monti's  then  dont  doze.

 Sorry  to  go  off  topic.
 Why  do  you  want  to  dose  Amino  acids?  Is  your  tank  ULNS  ?

 ULNS  =  Ultra  Low  Nutrient  System

 Seriously,  don't  bother  with  the  amino's  until  you  start  keeping  sps.

 Even  then,  even  with  an  ULNS,  sps  don't  NEED  amino's.

 Why  does  amino?  Because  thats  pretty  much  what  they  do  consume.

 You  dont  need  amino  acids  to  keep  SPS  neither  do  you  need  VSV.  VSV  is  just  a  powerful  tool  to  maintain  a  ULNS  reef  in  a  closed  system  amongst  other  much  safer  options  like  zeovit.  Amino's  are  needed  in  a  ULNS  system  as  corals  are  made  to  starve  in  UNLS  environment  (usually  manifested  by  greater  polyp  extention).  VSV  and  amino's  are  the  final  touch  in  getting  your  acro's  and  monti's  to  colour  up  and  are  by  no  means  mandatory.

 @Nauzer  Sir
 Thanks  so  much  for  the  info.  How  do  I  get  a  bleached  turbinaria  to  color  up?  It  very  aggressive  during  eating  time  and  eats  everything  from  frozen  artemia  to  bbs  to  live  chopped  tubifex.

 @Daniel
 I  want  my  zoa  colors  to  pop.  Currently  I  am  getting  great  growth  and  good  colors.  Are  there  any  ways  of  improving  it?

 My  lights  are:

 70  w  of  MH  14000K  6  inches  abv  a  18  by  12  by  12  tank.

 Currently  I  don't  see  the  need  but  will  be  supplementing  this  with  an  LED  system  in  the  near  future.  LED  comparable  to  14000K  .

 What  bulb  are  you  using  in  your  halide  fixture?  Zoa's  will  not  be  affected  by  amios,  light  intensity  and  spectrum  will  make  their  colours  pop.  Yes  you  could  supplement  with  royalbule  leds  they  will  help  your  zoas  fluorescence,  but  not  all  pigments  will  "pop".  What  are  your  water  parameters?  Also  if  you  dont  already  do  so,  run  carbon  it'll  ensure  none  of  your  light  intensity  is  lost  due  to  water  turbidity.

 Bleached  turbinaria  should  recover  within  a  week.  It  wont  even  need  to  be  fed  during  that  time.  Posting  tank  parameters  will  help.

 @  pree

 What  species  of  turbinaria  do  you  have?  I  dont  think  live  chopped  tubifix  worms  is  a  good  idea  for  a  marine  tank.  Blood  worms  may  be  a  better  option.
