pogostemon helferi - one attempt and failed
bolbitis heudelotti - presently trying, hope it survives
anubias nana petite - need to have one yet
blyxa japonica - one attempt failed, presently trying
Syngonanthus sp. 'Belem' - one attempt & failed as i was out of station and was floating for almost 4 days...planting after that did not help.
eriocaulon sp - presently trying and successful
tonina fluviatilis - first attempt failed, second attempt successful
Eleocharis parvula - successful in first attempt |

My favourite plant is Aponogeton crispus. It is very hardy plant. I like java moss also. |

Algae.
Most primitive and most successfull.
I never have problems in growing this. have tried nearly all types with great success.
When ever I tried to take it out, I killed successfully everything in the tank except algae.
I am able to grow them even in my non planted tanks, keeps my plecos and other algae eating fish busy.
Nothing beats algae.  |

On a more serious note it would be very hard to idenitfy one favourite plant.
In case of planted tank, it is the whole look of planted tank which appeals to the eye. it would be very hard to idenity a single plant.
I have seen a stunning guppy tank with just one type of plant , cabomba |

very true sandeep..its a bit tough to pick one favourite species when there are thousands..but still, i think that to every aquarists,there is one favourite plant with which he/she has had success.. |

Aponogeton henkelianus
Anubias got about 11 types of them.
Proserpinaca palustris Cuba for their color.
Staurogyne porto velho
marsilia sp for the forground look.
