 Hi  All,

I  have  just  purchased  a  fish  tank  of  18"X8''X12"  size  with  15  Black  Skirt  Tetra.
Next  day  I  bought  two  Angelfish  but  the  Tetras  started  nipping  the  fin.  After  2  days,  today  morning  the  small  one  died.  Sad   The  bigger  one  is  not  taking  food  &  staying  in  a  corner.  Shocked

Please  help  me  with  the  followings:

 1.  Which  fish  should  i  keep  with  the  Tetras?
 2.  Is  15  Tetras  are  too  much  for  Tank  of  this  size?

 Thanks  in  Advance

 Pharma.

 Pharma,

What  irks  me  is  the  fact  that  people  can  join  the  forum,  are  computer  savvy,  surf  the  net  but  then  do  not  do  the  minimum  reading  as  to  compatibility  issues.  And  what  about  the  nitrogen  cycle.  Has  your  tank  been  cycled.  With  that  bio  load  and  the  tank  dimensions  and  the  fact  that  the  tank  is  new  (???),  you  will  end  up  killing  all  your  fish.  I  mean,  are  we  in  the  hobby  of  keeping  fish  or  are  we  in  the  hobby  of  killing  fish.

Mate  don't  take  my  otherwise,  but  you  yourself  will  feel  bad  as  you  start  losing  the  fish.  Do  some  serious  reading  for  the  information  is  available  on  the  net.

....the  answer  my  friend  is  blowing  in  the  wind,  the  answer  is  blowing  in  the  wind.....

Whoa!  cool  down  mate,  there  is  no  need  for  such  a  snappy  reply.  Smile
@  phrama,  as  others  have  already  pointed  out,  your  tank  is  already  full  to  its  capacity,  let  it  cycle  for  some  time,  do  not  add  any  new  fish,  keep  on  changing  at  least  25%  of  water  every  week.
Goldfish  might  not  be  a  very  good  idea,  also  they  will  look  odd  with  tetra.

Hi,  I  also  have  a  small  tank  where  4  black  skirt  tetras  are  living  happily  with  6  rosy  barbs  and  a  small  pleco.  I  am  having  no  problem  with  them.  But  I  think  15  black  skirt  tetras  are  crowded  for  a  small  tank  of  the  size  you  have.  Best  of  Luck.

 Hi  Lakhyajit,

I  read  your  post  stating  that  you  are  from  GHY  and  are  not  able  to  source  live  plants.  Hi,  am  also  from  the  same  place  but  based  in  Goa.

Your  small  pleco  will  grow  to  be  a  very  big  pleco  and  since  you  wanted  plants,  the  pleco  as  it  grows  will  ruffle  out  all  your  plants.  For  now  the  colony  is  happy  and  Ok,  but  watch  out  for  the  pleco....  Thumb Up
