 Hello!

I'm  an  aquariumhobbyist  from  the  Netherlands.  I'm  setting  up  a  biotope  aquarium  (60cmx30cmx30cm)  in  which  I  want  to  keep  the  Badis  sp  Buxar.  If  my  research  is  correct,  then  the  habitat  of  the  Badis  sp  Buxar  is  the  Buxar  National  Park  (India,  West  Bengal,  Jalpaiguri,  Buxar  National  Park).  Correct  me  when  I'm  wrong!

I  want  to  reach  the  following  water  values:
 -  temperature:  23-25  degrees  Celcius.
 -  pH  value:  6.5-7.5
 -  dH  value:  1-5

I'm  in  search  of  information  on  this  biotope,  as  much  as  possible!  Especially  information  about  plants  will  be  appreciated.

Can  you  guys  give  me  a  hand?

 hi  Rens,
 Welcome  to  IAH,
whatever  values  you  got  there  go  good  for  badis  sp  buxar,  they  prefer  fine  sand  as  a  substrate  and  also  add  in  plenty  of  caves  to  serve  as  potential  spawning  sites,  temperature   between  26-28  will  trigger  spawning,
a  60x30x30  will  be  sufficient  for  housing  just  a  pair,  better  go  for  a  larger  tank  and  house  them  in  a  group  so  they  have  thier  natural  mate  selection.
as  for  info  on  biotope  better  to  wait  for  the  experts  to  comment.

Thank  you  for  quick  reaction.  Bigger  tank  is  possible  in  the  future,  for  now  I'll  start  with  60x30x30  and  a  pair  of  Buxars.

For  your  information,  I'm  especially  interested  in  concrete  information  about  the  planting  in  this  biotope.  About  that,  I'm  troubling  to  get  useful  and  reliable  information..

So:  who  can  help  me  on  my  way?  I  want  to  stay  in  the  biotope  'West  Bengal'...  so  information  about  that  region  is  what  I'm  looking  for!  More  detailled  information  about  Buxar  National  Park...  would  be  fantastic!

Some  of  us  have  had  the  opportunity  to  keep  the  fish  but  most  of  us  haven't  visited  the  place  to  describe  its  biotope.

Any  usable  links  about  this  biotope  would  also  be  appreciated.  I'll  check  this  topic  daily  and  I'm  still  in  search  of  information!
