 Hi  Guys,

I  would  like  to  say  from  my  personal  exp.  Pls.  don't  take  otherwise.  It's  just  my  personal  opinion.

When  I  start  keepin  shrimps  I  was  worried  about  water  parameter,  Temp.,  et.  etc.

But  after  2  years  of  keeping  RCS,  Rainbow,  Zebrea,  Wood  Shrimp,  Red  nose  Shrimp  etc.  what  I  found
it's  reall  easy  to  keep  them.  Noheadeach.  I  do  WC  once  ina  week  50%  my  main  planted  tank  which  I  posted  as  a  "My  second  Setup-----".  And  other  one  once  in  monthe  and  it's  size  is
 18"(l)  x  10"(b)  x  5"(h)  with  a  airstone  only.  Food  Tetrabits,  Palak  or  Spinach  ....That's  all.

And  they  are  doing  fine.  Getting  lots  of  babis  ....Till  no  crossbreeding  happend  to  me.

Thy  Only  worried  thing  is  "SUMMER  TEMP."....that  time  they  don't  want  to  breed  and  I  have  to  fill  up  with  cold  water  everyday.  And  also  that  time  I  lost  few  of  them...

Buy  in  case  of  CRS,  Bumble  Bee  it's   really  very  very  difficult.  I  already  losy  few  xxxx/  rs.  Becz.  they  need  temp  like  25-26  degree  which  very  dificult  in  kolkata.  But  my  ph.  and  watet  condition  was  ok.  They  just  died  due  to  temp.  That's  why  I  need  A/C  for  them  ...but  it  too  costly....  Crying or Very sad

 Hi  Friends,
New  here,  but  not  new  to  aquarium  hobby.  Just  started  with  my  first  planted  aquarium  a  month  back.  Its  48'  x  18'  x  18'.
I  have  only  added  4nos  of  guppy  in  my  tank.  Yesterday  got  my  20nos  of  Red  Cherry  Shrimp.  They  seems  to  be  happy  in  the  tank  but  the  colour  is  not  as  bright  as  i  had  expected.  Is  there  anything  I  can  feed  them  to  get  a  bright  red  colour?

They  have  lot  of  plants  for  them.  Here  is  the  list  as  follows.
Java  Moss,  Red  Lilly,  Green  Cabomba,  Ludwiga,  Amazon  Sword,  Dwarf  Hair  Grass.
The  substrate  is  not  dark.  its  a  yellow/gold  sand  with  absolute  planting  soil.
The  prob  is,  the  colour  of  my  RCS  is  very  dull  red,  so  I  was  thinking  of  feeding  them  some  food  that  will  help  enhance  their  coulor.  I  think  I  will  wait  for  few  more  days  to  see  how  bright  their  colour  would  be,  since  its  just  been  1  days  they  are  in  my  tank.

@Punit  -  RCS  starts  to  display  bright  colour  as  they  march  towards  adulthood  and  when  they  get  comfortable  in  the  tank.  I  have  many  in  my  nano  tank  with  light  coloured  substrate  and  yet  it  doesnt  affect  RCS  colouration.  Will  try  to  post  pictures..

I  dont  know  whether  it  was  the  old  age  or  familiarity  with  surroundings,  but  the  colors  sure  improved  Smile

very  nice  shrimps  Doc!  if  u  lookin  for  more  lemme  know.

 Punit,

like  Jack  said,  the  longer  they  are  in  the  tank  the  better  they  color  up.  i  use  a  white  substrate  in  my  6gl  nano  which  is  heavily  planted  with  low  light,  rootless  plants  that  houses  my  Fire  Red  Cherry  Shrimps.  they  attained  some  AMAZING  colors  as  soon  as  1  week.  will  upload  a  few  pics  later  on  when  i  get  home.
