I  checked  my  cylinder  last  evening..  the  reading  on  the  gauge  was  around  60,  showing  plenty  of  CO2..

The  next  morning...  Cylinder  is  empty..  my  fish  are  dead  or  dying!

Almost  all  died...2  Neon  Groumies,  1  Molly,  2  Corbydoras,  3  cardinal  Tetras  and  probably  about  5  molly  frys.

Any  ideas  how  this  could  happen?

This  sudden  dump  has  happened  before,  but  i  was  told  it  must  be  a  leak.  This  time  i  had  really  checked  every  joint  and  made  sure  its  leak  proof.

I've  heard  of  End  of  Tank  Dump,  but  i  am  certain  it  was  no  where  near  the  end  of  the  tank  (  had  got  the  cylinder  filled  about  2  weeks  ago)

Please  Help!!  its  been  a  very  tragic  morning...

It's  a  pretty  straight  forward  setup..

Cylinder  is  standing  (tied  to  a  support  pole)

Tube  goes  into  a  DIY  reactor  which  is  connected  to  the  canister  filter  outlet.

It's  in  a  awkward  spot  so  a  photo  will  be  hard  to  do..  will  try  in  anycase.

 Thanks

Yes  a  picture  plus  detailed  specifications  will  help  you  resolve  this  more  easily...

Put  up  some  details  like  the  type  and  brand  of  regulator  you  are  using,  type  of  valves  on  it,  etc.

Ok..  will  do  that  first  thing  tomorrow.

Would  the  reg  have  the  brand  name  on  it?  i  got  it  as  a  package  deal  all  assembled.

Yes  it  should  have  a  name  on  the  ring  where  regulator  tap  is  situated.

If  it  doesnt,  its  most  probably  a  cheap  Chinese  regulator.

I  was,  but  the  diffusion  was  not  enough  to  get  optimum  CO2  levels.

The  Reactor  worked  perfectly..  lots  of  pearling  and  great  plant  growth..  with  almost  no  CO2  bubbles  escaping

 Hello  Paperfish

I  have  the  same/identical  regulator  .  Got  it  from  NIRAV  "India  pet  store"  the  complete  assembly.
He  told  me  that  this  is  an  INDIA  Make  with  ISI  Mark  on  it.  with  a   6  month  warranty.  So  far  i  have  had  no  issues.

I  have  been  using  it  for  almost  4  moths  now........check  the  solenoid  if  that  gone  bad  or  if  some  dust  went  through  and  the  pin  didn't  close  as  expected.......

 Hi  Anish,

Thanks..  Nirav  has  added  one  more  safety  valve  on  it  now..

I  think  this  should  do  the  trick!
