Hi Guys,
I could only visit Kurla in the evening (as I slept most of the day due to an extremely busy week (14+ hr workdays) as my projects (and the team size) has more than doubled.)
Fish observed at Kurla:
1. LARGE (5"+) Malawi Cichlids: These are at Aakar and Kurla Aquarium. I would recommend Kurla Aquarium over Aakar for better price and service.. Fish include: Giraffes or Nimbochromis venustus (incl. Males), Yellow Peacocks (Aulonocara sp.), the "False" Malawi Eye Biter (Dimidiochromis strigatus), "Mand one (stressed out piece) Yellow Lab. There are several Mbuna (but they, I think, are not "interesting"). They also have the "false" Labeotropheus fuelleborni (Marmalade Cichlid).
2. Silver Arowanas. (In all sizes, in several shops)
3. Severums, Firemouth, etc. (Aakar)
4. Piranhas (These are everywhere! The tails are all messed up which I thought was due to aggression in a crowded tank. But seem to actually be fungus/fin rot.)
5. Tausif was closed. I don't think any other stores have Datnoids.
6. Aquaplanet has the usual stuff mentioned earlier. (Bichirs, Silver Arowanas, Clown Loaches, Elephantnose, Neon Tetra, Tiger Shovel-nose Catfish, etc.) (This guy is angry with me as a "bulk deal" I was trying to set-up for Burundis didn't go through )
7. Oscars are everywhere.
8. LARGE ~1" common plecos at Aakar and Lake Land
9. Snakeheads (which seem to be C. sp. Assam) at Aakar
10. (Couldn't check out Utkarsh, Tausif and Fish-O-Fish.)
11. Aakar also has tiny Frontosas (Burundi)
I will try to read-up a little more about "special"/"interesting" small fish that you guys with Planted Tanks like. Currently, I can't ID them. For instance, I think I saw Otos but I can't be sure of the ID.
Cheers,
Sid
PS: I got a pair of Botia striata and Ramirez Cichlid from Kurla Aquarium. Immediate home is 1ft tank in living room. Eventually, it'll be a 2fter. (Or I will gift this to a certain boy who loves cute fish if he likes them.)
No Large (sized) Fish purchases for a couple of weeks as I have to finalize the plans for the 120 Gal Malawi before I can add any more fish to that set. Some other plans for a 220Gal New World set-up are also underway and I hope will be finalized over next few weeks. Add one more "Monster Tank" (with Aro, Endlis, Dels, Jag, Gars) to this and 2011 may turn out to be completely rocking )

Lakeland at Kurla has what I think is the "regular" Goby (Stigmatogobius sadanundio) in decent numbers. (I had no idea what those fish were till I googled "Bumblebee Goby" and recognized the body-type. )
Your best bet for Dario Dario is also Lakeland. The owner Shakeel is sans doubt the most educated and knowledgeable of the shopkeepers at Kurla.

Hi Manoj,
I think you mean Tiger Shovelnose Catfish. I PMed you the information yesterday along with my advice to NOT get one.
Aqua Planet (Kurla) has what look like TSN. Might be TSN X RTC hybrids.
Aakar used to have them a few months ago. I don't remember if I saw these when I went there a couple of weeks back.
Cheers,
Sid
PS: TSN are on my "Wish-list" as well, but you need a Pond to keep one. These guys are called "Tank-busters" for good reason. So, don't get one.
