 Hi  all,

 I  have  an  odd  collection  in  my  community  tank  30"  x  15"  x  15".  (1  month  now)

4  Black  Marble  Zebra  Lace  Angels  (1.5  inches  body  size)
4  Black  moor  goldfish  (very  healthy)
 6  Goldfish  (very  healthy)

I  also  had  a  pair  of  half  silver  and  half  black  -  veiltail  angels,
these  died  due  to  fin  rot..inspite  of  my  best  efforts  and  help  from  the  LFS  guy.

I  plan  to  shift  the  goldfish  to  a  new  tank.
(2nd  -  cylindrical  acrylic  tank  -  yet  to  confirm  the  size).

 Recently  got  another  tank  (3rd  -  30"  x  15"  x  15")  and  plan  to  start  it  soon.

I  do  a  50%  water  change  every  2  days  (goldfish  make  a  mess  while  feeding).
I  feed  them  Flake  food  -  generous  pinch  twice  a  day.

Got  a  Boyu  1000A  filter,  and  Boyu  304  airpump.

Inviting  your  suggestions  and  advice  on  new  fishes  for  1st  &  3rd  tank  +  your  opinion  about  the  setup,  equipment  etc.

 Thanks  and  regards

 SUDHIR

 Welcome

Please  do  not  buy  filter  or  any  products  before  you  confirm  what  fish  tat  would  go  into  your  tank.........

You  got  to  select  the  fish  you  want  to  have,  then  decide  on  the  tank  size  for  that  fish,  then  the  substrate  and  the  filter  required....

 Clapping
 Welcome  to  fishy  world
Goldfish  &  Angles  don't  mix,  seperate  the  two
Goldfish  need  a  lot  of  space,  a  full  grown  needs  10  gallons  of  water.
In  a  3x1.5x1.5  tank  you  cant  have  more  than  5  golds  or  else  they  will  not  grow.
What  other  type  of  other  goldfishes  do  you  have,  black  moors  are  delicate,  can't  see  very  well  should  only  be  kept  with  similar  fancy  goldfish  like  oranda,  etc.
Your  tank  is  not  cycled  yet.  Buy  a  ammonia  test  kit,  keep  ammonia  =0
Have  patience,  read  more,  a  propely  set  up  tanks  more  than  3  months  to  fully  stock.
Cut  down  on  feeding  you  are  feeding  too  much,  once  a  day  is  enough  for  fishes,  fast  them  once  a  week.
Only  dry  feed  is  not  enough.
The  topic  is  too  large  to  be  covered  in  one  mail.
 Enjoy

 Sudhir,  welcome  to  IAH!
I  would  suggest  you  stick  to  your  angles!  Mumbai  water  is  soft  and  suited  for  angles  -  you  don't  need  to  bother  much  about  test  kits  for  now  unless  you  are  drastically  going  wrong  on  some  water  parameters.
If  you  don't  want  to  part  with  your  goldies  you  can  shift  them  to  the  new  tank  and  let  them  live  in  peace  and  tranquility  of  their  own  tank!
I  don't  think  either  goldies  or  your  angles  will  like  the  strong  water  current  generated  by  your  power  filter  so  go  easy  on  that!
 regards,
 aquascapes

 Thank  you  aquascapes

Will  shift  the  goldies  and  moors  to  the  new  tank  on  sunday.

Is  it  advisable  to  use  the  water  from  the  old  tank,  that  way  the  goldies  will  feel  quite  at  home  in  the  new  place.

 thanks  &  regards

As  aquascapes  suggested,  a  test  kit  is  not  necessary  right  away.....

I  am  running  my  tank  from  last  August  and  had  never  used  a  test  kit  on  it....  the  key  is  "water  change".....

If  you  see  your  fish  stressed,  then  you  water  quality  has  gone  down.....

To  avoid  it,  have  weekly  regulated  water  changes.....

Take  care  of  the  water,  and  the  fish  would  take  care  of  itself.....    Thumb Up

And  again,  goldfish  are  coldwater  fish  and  angels  are  tropical...  so  please  separate  them

 Good  luck

In  my  first  tank,  i  have  used  glass  marbles  and  small  pebbles.

Goldfish  occasionaly  like  to  take  gravel  in  their  mouth  &  spit  it  out.
So  ensure  that  the  gravel  is  not  too  sharp

Sudhir  -  if  you  want  to  rush  this  -  I'd  suggest  you  take  some  substrate  from  your  existing  set-up  and  about  half  of  the  water  from  your  existing  tank  to  seed  your  new  tank  with  bacterial  culture!
 regards,
