 Hello   Smile

I  have  a  67  gallon  tank  (36"  L  X  18  W  X  24"  H)  and  I  have  4  Yellow  Labs  and  4  Powder  Blue  Cichlids  in  it.  I  have  acquired  a  Blood  Red  Parrot  juvi  and  was  wondering  if  I  can  keep  it  in  this  tank  along  with  the  existing  mentioned  Mbuna's?

The  BRP  juvi  is  about  2.5  inches  now.

I  wont  suggest  u  do  that  both  different  requirments  and  then  once  brp  grows  old  it  may  attack  the  mbunas.  Smile

@tintin1982:  yes  u  can  go  with  the  selection  but  i  second  sumit(rocky2)  to  not  do  it  as  brp  may  harm  other  mbuna  ,  i  am  telling  by  personal  experience,  moreover  there  is  no  dearth  of  good  coloured  mbuna  &  other  naturall  cichlids  for  you  to  consider.try  blue  dolphin,  giraffe  cichlid,  malawi  eye  bitter,  powder  blue  cichlids  etc.  Smile

Thanks  Sumit  and  Devansh  for  replying   Smile

I  was  planning  to  keep  the  BRP  juvi  with  the  Mbuna's  but  I  guess  I  won't  do  that  since  I  don't  want  my  fish  to  get  injured  or  stressed.

Can  someone  tell  me  though  how  many  Mbuna  Cichlids  I  can  have  in  this  67  gallon  tank?  At  present  I  have  8  fishes  in  total  and  one  small  Pleco.

@tintin1982:  the  number  of  fishes  depends  on  the  types  of  fishes  ,  their  size,  tank  decoration  ,  i  have  the  same  sized  tank  of  cichlids  i  have  10  mixed  cichlids  all  of  3-4  inches  &  they  are  fine.

 Hello  devansh95,

I  actually  want  to  add  a  few  more  Yellow  Labs  in  this  setup,  can  I  have  around  15  to  20  fishes  in  total  in  this  tank?  Or  should  I  keep  it  under  15?

well  15  cichlids  will  not  be  recommended  .  although  yellow  labs  are  quite  "peaceful"  u  will  be  able  to  keep  15  cichlids  only  for  some  months  like  2-3  that  too  with  extra  decorations.  i  have  never  kept  yellow  labs  so  i  dont  know  about  them  try  asking  other  "experts"  on  IAH.

well  Souptik  my  personal  view  is  you  can  have  10  or  12  labs  in  total  if  you  want  i  would  suggest  you  can  have  all  yellow  lab  tank  and  3  or  4  powder  blues  for  now  it  will  look  stuinning  with  yellow  and  blue  combo...but  dont  exceed  12  or  14  total  in  number  Thumb Up
