Kindly id this fish (unfortunately dead).
Had visited Orang National park, 140kms from guwahati, few days back, but unfortunately was raining non-stop for the entire day and night. Didn't get a chance to visit the park but did visit a nearby lake which was connected to a river at one end. No chance of capturing anything due to the rains bud spotted this guy swimming at the surface near the shore. Must have been sick since not with its group and also swimming at the surface. Was able to scoop it with my hands only. Was about 3.5 in. It did not survive long in the bag though. It was beautiful indeed.

Thanks. Beautiful coloration. Do they have the black scale tip on yours or they develop as they grow old.
Didn't know they 'bendelisis' were found in Assam. Will have to go to the site again to try and catch a few.
regards
Simanta. |

That isnt their coloration actually, my substrate is reddish brown so they're reflecting that.
They do have a bit of blackening on each scale. The picture was taken when they were small, will take a new picture of that and show you later, today. |
