@mortis  -  i  have  just  started  using  it.  My  mind  set  says  it  is  the  carbon  supply  in  liquid  form  but  many  say  it  is  the  algae  killer  too  ....i  am  bite  confused.  if  i  use  this  i  cannot  see  pearling  in  my  aquarium  but  if  use  my  pressurized  sodamaker  setup  i  do  see  pearling.

That  is  partly  because  CO2  provides  carbon  from  the  beginning  stage  of  photosynthesis  whereas  Glut  provides  carbon  at  a  middle  stage  of  photosynthesis.  Also,  glut  isnt  as  effective  as  pressurised  CO2  so  on  the  same  tank  if  you  use  CO2  or  glut,  the  rate  of  photosynthesis  will  be  higher  in  the  case  of  pressurised  CO2,  hence  you  will  see  pearling.

The  fact  that  glut  is  an  algae  killer  is  a  happy  side  effect  along  with  its  primary  purpose  of  providing  carbon.  Many  people  dose  it  along  with  pressurised  CO2  just  for  this  effect.

It  was  quiet  a  rage  at  at  one  time,  however  its  toxicity  and  no  apparent  advantage  in  long  term,  most  of  us  abandoned  its  use.
For  those  who  are  still  using  using  it,  please  be  carefull  of  its  toxicity.

The  stuff  is  pretty  toxic  and  a  known  carcinogen  so  would  not  adivise  people  to  use  it  unless  with  a  fume  hood  as  Mortis  mentioned.  Its  not  actually  safe  even  when  diluted.

That  said,  if  yous  till  want  to  use  it  -  spend  your  cash  on  better  stuff.  You  can  pick  up  a  full  bottle  of  undiluted  glut  from  me  for  free.  Mumbai  only  and  pickup  from  Govandi.

PM  me  or  better  still  call  me  if  you  have  my  number.

 Regards,
 Venkat

@mortis  -  i  using  Glutaraldehyde  for  my  another  non  pressurized  co2  tank.  and  the  result  is  slow  but  good  growth  with  any  algae  issues.  But  do  u  advice  me  to  use  along  with  the  pressurized  co2  tank  because  i  have  been  observing  green  spot  algae  along  with  some  BBA.
