Lovely  specimens  those,  makes  me  wanna  keep  them  again!

A  few  shots  of  them  when  I  had  them
 At  around  8"

 Juvie  coloration

As  with  all  other  Channa  that  grow  large  -  very  aggressive  towards  each  other,  amazing  jumpers.  Eat  anything.
How  many  did  you  bring  back?  Care  to  share  a  few?  Wink

I  think  the  fish  in  the  above  pic  are  Channa  marulius.

 This  is  Channa  striata.

confused  about  scientific  name..2  same  types  of  fishes  can  be  found  in  the  ponds...one  is  'shol'  another  'letha'..'shol's
are  more  redish  than  'letha's,also  they  are  much  bigger  may  be  max  about  3ft  long  and  6inch  in  dia  where  as  'letha's  are  smaller  about  1-1.5ft  long  and  2inch  in  dia...dont  know  what  r  the  sc  names...will  upload  pic  tomorrow

love  this  fish.   Thumb Up  had  kept  it  once.  problem  is  it  just  grows  and  grows.
its  gets  a  lot  bigger  than  striata  and  adult  specimens  with  the  reddish  black  hue  with  the  white  "flowers"  looks  awesome.

Lovely  fish.  I  have  seen  about  2ft  specimens  swimming  along  the  banks  close  to  Mysore.  Lovely  fish  but  surely  need  to  have  a  pond  to  keep  them.
