 @Angmat
Sorry  i  dont  agree  with  you  on  the  tank  size..i  think  a  4  21  21  tank  with  proper  filteration  and  care  is  just  right  for  4  oscars. If  your  going  by  the  per  fish  per  so  many  gallon  rule  i  really  dont  agree.I  have  nearly  the  same  setup  as  Amit  and  my  oscar  have  been  really  happy. They  live  like  one  big  happy  family  which  includes  one  breeding  pair.Yes  they  do  dig  give  eggs  and  have  even  give  wrigglers.
And  i  dont  think  he  feeds  feeders  to  his  fish  either

Thanks  Vicky  &  Niranjan  for  the  motivation  to  carry  on  my  thread  with  updates.

I  have  learned  so  many  things  in  this  forum   Thumb Up  ...  that  i  want  to  share  whatever  i  know.

Hamza,  you  are  correct  ..  no  feeder  fish  used  in  any  of  my  setup.

As  per  current  load  on  4ft  tank, they  are  happy  enough  and  basic  internal  filter  holding  good  with  weekly  water  change.  In  the  back  of  my  mind  I  know  I  might  have  to  upgrade  to  canister  ...  but  that  has  to  wait  for  few  more  months   Smile

 Hi  Friends,
 Back  to  post  few  updates.
Things  are  quite  settled  in  my  tank  apart  from  demise  of  one  of  the  Neon  Acaras  (another  post  under  Disease  and  Cure).

The  Tiger  Oscar  have  taken  the  left  side  of  the  tank  and  the  Albinos  the  other  side.  I  have  placed  a  pot  on  that  side  as  the  albino  with  lesser  markings  like  to  hide  and  protect  itself  from  others.

The  Tigers  have  as  expected  grown  at  a  brisk  rate.  When  I  had  bought  them  they  were  around  5  inches  and  now  are  touching  9  inch.  Now  all  of  them  are  of  about  9  inch.

They  have  started  clearing  the  bottom  of  tank  during  this  rainy  season.  The  Tigers  have  created  the  crater  on  the  left  side  and  the  albinos  on  the  right  side.  See  the  full  setup  pics  to  see  these  craters   Smile

And  surprise  surprise   Cheering  ..  today  morning  i  found  few  eggs  on  the  rock.  Rang  up  my  mentor  Hamza,  in  Pune  (toomanyfish)  and  got  few  advise.  So  expecting  nothing  much  from  this  egg  set.
But  kind  of  feel  happy  to  see  them  laying  eggs..   Very Happy

Looks  good.  U  have  a  lot  of  Red  markings  on  your  Lutino  and  the  "O"  shaped  marking  on  the  tail.  Mine  doesn't  have  it  Crying or Very sad   and  markings  are  little...   But  they  are  just  above  4  months  old....  Gonna  wait

@nvj1  -  don't  worry  about  red  markings  and  all  ..  if  you  see  my  other  snap  where  Albinio  is  busy  diggins  ..  he/she  is  similar  to  your  one.  So  enjoy  and  take  care  of  them!!

@toomanyfish/Hamza  -  thanks  for  all  the  help.  Next  thing  on  my  list  is  2217  ..  but  need  to  save  up  for  it!!

@hrishi007  -  the  eggs  were  gone  that  very  day!   Sad

@hems  -  Thanks  for  appreciating  the  setup.  It  is  not  pure  DIY  background.  I  had  bought  the  regular  ones  from  LFS  but  it  was  dark  brown/golden  combination.  Due  to  which  the  tiger  oscars  were  kind  of  getting  camouflaged.  So  i  hand  painted  them  in  color  of  blue/dark  blue.

 Back  with  some  updates.
Now  the  tank  has  just  the  tiger  oscars  and  they  love  it!  Not  sure  if  it  is  pair  or  female-female  but  they  are  at  peace  with  each  other.

I  had  added  2217  last  year  and  love  the  improvement  in  water  quality  due  to  it.
