Hi guys, I am from Santiniketan, West Bengal. I have bought a tank of dimension 4'X2'X1.5'. Firstly tried to make a community tank with angels goldfish etc but ended up with dead tank. Couldnt find out the root cause of the mishap. Later again started with cichlids like Texas, Zebra cichlid, Kissing fish, Gourami etc. I am very much new to this hobby, guys please suggest me to start a stable tank. I use stored boiled water for WC. I continuously get fin rot like disease in all my fishes. Couldnt find the cause though. Please suggest me regarding the same. And also suggest me fishes.
Thanks.

Hi Welcome to the forum..We all did the same mistake when we started our tank.Go slow and and introduce less fish in the tank and use a good filter to clean the water.
Kindly mentioned your tank specs with the equipment, substrate, plants and medicine you have used in the tank in details.

I have one top filter180l/h. I have increased the temperature to 30 C. I have used PP dip of affected fishes everyday for 1 min. substrate is white mosaic stones. No plants. Air stone. By mistake I have used 5 mm glass for the tank. The LFS guy here suggested that to me resulting a problem I filling the tank fully. I am confused about the fishes to keep. Want to start again with new. Please suggest about the fishes.

This is the first mistake that all the hobbyists make at the time of the first tank setup.
At first rinse your tank, accessories, decorations, plants very minutely, then fill your half tank with aged water, after that put in all the accessories, decorations, gravels, etc. leave it with 2-3 small fishes for 1 or 2 weeks till the nitrifying bacterias start to accumulate in your filter sponges. Now start to add fishes, but only 2 at a time.
Please update your location.
Tell which type of fishes are you planning to keep in the 4 feeter (75 gallon)? Then we can suggest you what fishes to keep?
