 Haii....

 Welcome  to  IAH..

As  you  using  2  feet  tank  tank  and  goldfish  I  have  a  suggestion  to  use  a  sponge  filter  too...sponge  filters  are  very  good  for  goldfishes(i  am  also  using  those)..

You  may  do  water  change  exactly  20%  in  a  week....this  is  the  best  option  for  water  changing...

and  sorry  that  i  dont  know  about  about  testing  tools  for  test  like  ph,temperature  etc....Hope  fully  other  guys  will  help  you..

 Where  are  u  living??

 Hi,
 Welcome  to  IAH!
   Smile
Goldfish  require  cooler  temperatures  to  be  happy.Although  they  may  tolerate  higher  temperatures.
I  hope  you  have  an  air  pump.
The  effectiveness  of  your  undergravel  filter  depends  on  the  size  of  your  gravel.Bigger  particles  result  in  better  efficiency. But  goldfish  are  heavy  eaters,as  well  as  heavy  poopers  so  you  need  a  decent  filter,If  any  powerfilter  for  the  size  of  the  tank  fits  your  budget, get  it.Otherwise  weekly  water  changes  will  suffice.

 Hi!!!!!!!!!  Sunny21.
 Welcome  to  IAH.
Why  don't  you  try  for  Top  Filter?  It  is  the  best  filter,  according  to  your  tank.

 Happy  Fish  Keeping..

Just  keep  it  on  till  your  lights  are  on.It  always  works  and  dosnt  create  an  extra  thing  to  worry  about.

You  can  feed  the  Goldfish  the  food  you  get  at  LFS.I  personally  dont  keep  goldfishes(dont  know  why)  so  I  cant  suggest  any  other  thing  you  may  add. There  are  special  foods  to  bring  out  the  Red  color  in  the  fish. As  a  treat  you  can  try  giving  them  boiled  peas, lettuce  or  spinach,But  just  as  a  treat  once  in  a  few  weeks.

 Hi,

Gravel  filters  are  good,  &  quite  effective.  But  water  change  &  cleaning  them  is  cumbersome.  Sponge  filters  it  will  be  easier  to  clean  them,  but  might  not  give  as  much  clarity  of  water  like  a  gravel  filter.  Either  one  will  do,  no  need  to  use  both.

To  clean  the  gravel  filter,  you  will  have  to  remove  the  fishes  then  remove  the  tray  &  siphon  all  the  dirt  accumulated  under  the  tray.  Occasionally  clean  the  towers  at  the  back  with  a  small  brush.  With  gold  fishes  they  will  pass  a  lot  feces  in  the  water  &  so  you  will  have  to  do  regular  water  changes.

In  your  tank  of  60  ltr  water  you  should  do  a  50%  water  change  every  week  or  25%  every  3  days.  When  you  change  water  try  to  remove  as  much  dirt  &  debris  accumulated  on  the  substrate  with  the  siphon  pump.  Good  to  buy  a  siphon  pump  will  make  it  easier  to  change  water.  Twice  a  month  remove  the  tray  from  under  the  substrate  &  change  water  &  remove  all  the  dirt  accumulated  under  the  tray,  if  this  is  difficult  at  least  once  a  month  is  a  must.
Gold  especially  oranda  gold  don't  fare  well  with  too  much  nitrates  or  ammonia  in  the  water.

If  its  a  sponge  filter  you  will  have  to  do  water  change,  but  most  of  debris  will  be  on  the  substrate  &  so  easier  to  remove  with  a  siphon  pump.  Clean  the  sponge  of  the  filter  every  time  you  change  the  water.  follow  the  same  frequency  as  mentioned  above.

When  you  do  water  changes  do  clean  the  tank  glass  from  inside  with  a  soft  scrubber.

For  gold  fish  a  nitrate  &  ammonia  test  kit  will  do.  Its  available  in  most  LFS.

 Regards

hello,  for  your  setup  adding  a  simple  sponge  filter  will  do.  and  remember  goldfish  produce  a  lot  of  waste  and  it  limits  the  number  of  fish  that  can  be  kept  in  the  tank.
look  around  and  if  you  consider  any  change  in  fauna,  let  us  know  which  fish  you  like  so  that  we  can  suggest  fishes  that  can  live  with  it  in  your  tank,  for  now  3  goldfishes  is  already  pushing  it.
you  dont  need  to  add  any  medicine,  just  keep  up  with  the  water  changes  as  mentioned  above.
