Starting  a  Reef  tank  in  next  week,  regarding  this,  I  need  some  inputs.

 Tank  Size  :  70  X  45  X  45  cm.

Don't  want  to  install  MH  so  I  have  only  the  option  of  PLL  or  T5  tubes.  Please  guide  me,  which  will  be  the  better  option.

 Option  1  =  36  watt  X  2  PLL  +  2  blue  lights
 Option  2  =  T5  X  4  +  2  blue  lights.
 Option  3  =  Please  suggest.

PLL/T5s  are  available  only  in  6500  k  in  the  market.

If  anybody  know  about  the  availability  of  10000  K  or  more  Kelvin  PLLs/T5s,  please  inform  about  the  brand,  if  possible  also  the  contact.

There's  a  lot  more  depends  on  what  type  of  reef  you  wanna  set  up..

Softies  or  LPS  or  SPS  or  mixed  ?

Well  the  lighting  you  have  mentioned  is  not  sufficient  for  a  reef  lighting..

Get  4  T5  HO  and  you  are  good  to  go  with  softies  anf  LPS  ..

Sps  well  a  different  ball  game  all  together  ..  Lot  more  depends  other  than  high  lights  for  sps.

Go  with  the  4  x  T5s  but  dont  get  the  normal  blue  coloured  tubes.  Get  2x  proper  actinic  tubes.

Maximus,  I  am  reading  and  reading  now.  I  have  decide  to  keep  soft  corals  in  deep  areas  of  tank  and  light  demanding  corals  on  the  upper  areas  of  the  tank.  It  is  not  easy  to  got  corals/anemones  in  Delhi/N.C.R.  So  all  things  are  depend  on  senior  hobbyist  and  other  cities.

 Anand,  Thanks.

Mortis,  tomorrow  I  will  visit  to  market  and  bring  some  lights  and  other  electronic  stuff.

Sameer,  I  am  planning  to  install  PLLs  of  8000  K.  Some  Chinese  brand  10000  K  PLL  are  also  available  in  the  market  but  I  don't  know  about  the  source.  So  Please  help  me.  I  think  nobody  know  more  than  you  about  the  source  of  light  from  Bhagirat  Place.  So  please  suggest  me  a  shop.  I  will  call  you.

 rajeev
i  was  in  bangkok  recently, saw  the  most  amazing  reef  setups  in  chatuchak  market.there  was  a  12'x12'x1.25'  square  tank  with  hundreds  of  coral  fragments  for  sale,  plus  all  kinds  of  of  anemones, livestock.awesome  have  not  seen  so  much  variety  in  delhi  or  mumbai  at  least.i  know  a  lot  of  this  stuff  is  restricted  in  india,  but  i  wish  there  were  people  cultivating  and  selling  them  legally  in  india  also  .then  reef  keeping  would  be  more  fun.(saw  at  least  six  colours  of  clownfish  also  in  sizes  from  1.5  inch  to  5")

True!!  I  had  searched  like  mad  whole  2  weeks,  no  sight  of  8000K  PLLs.
Who  was  the  person  who  saw  them  and  where  and  brand?
Can  remember  only  7200K  stuff  nothing  more.

Aquazonic  T5HOs  are  the  only  ones  I  can  think  of  inside  2ft  size  for  >6500K.
Please  let  the  family  know  what  you  conquer!  Thumb Up
