I see no reason why it should not work.Just check whether the airline tube is fixed properly to the bottle.Examine whether there is a leak or not. |

I think you need to alter the amount of yeast you are using.Thing is more yest - more co2 generation - but less life, less yeast - average co2 generation - more life.
Try and experiment with the yeast amount keeping other things constant, you will soon know exactly how much you need. |

There are other things that you might want to consider:
1. ambient temperature - cooler it is, lesser co2 generation. (I stay in delhi, in peak summers i had better co2 generation)
2. DIY co2 generation is erratic. Ive personally experienced this-for maybe a day or 2 there would be very less or practically no co2 generation and then suddenly it starts bubbling.
3. add the yeast to 1/2 cup warm water, let it dissolve, after about 20 mins add to already dissolved warm sugar solution.
4. Sugar should be between 1/2 - 3/4 cup maximum (any normal tea cup & not a coffee mug).
5. Make sure the yeast is activated.
6. make sure all tubing, joints, etc are airtight. I have noticed sometimes my bottle caps get slightly lose over time, causing a fizzing sound near the neck of bottle. Turn the bottle not the cap when you are sealing it shut. |

Too much yeast, too less water. Yeast ate sugar, turned water acidic and in process died themselves.
First fill two cups of boiling water in 2 lts bottle . Add two cups of sugar in it. Dissolve by shaking bottle thoroughly. This also disinfects bottle upto a certain level. Add cold water upto the start of neck of bottle ( till the point from where bottle starts tapering. Add one table spoon full of yeast. This mixture will start producing co2 in less then 12 hrs and will last atleast for 2 weeks or more.I know because i m using it for my planted 250 ltrs tank and plants are doing absolutely fine. Though no success with Glosso.. |
