 Hi  guys,

Thank  you  all  for  your  believe  in  me  and  the  immense  support  you  have  provided  all  the  way.

Heres  my  scape  that  bagged  Rank  #309  this  year.  I  am  posting  a  sequence  of  pictures  from  the  start  to  its  best  form.

 [AQUARIUM  SIZE]
 W:  70  x  D:  40  x  H:  40  (cm)

 [PLANTS]
Blyxa  japonica,  Eleocharis  parvula,  Glossostigma  elatinoides,  Hydrocotyle  tripartita,  Hemianthus  callitrichoides  'Cuba',  Hemianthus  micranthemoides,  Rotala  sp  green,  rotala  rotundifolia,  Vesicularia  ferriei

 [FISHES]
Inpaichthys  kerri,  Hemigrammus  erythrozonus,  sewellia  lineolata,  otocinclus  vittatus,  Rainbow  shrimps  and  lots  of  unwanted  snails

 [SUBSTRATE]
Clay(70%)+humus(5%)+laterite(20%)+peat(5%)  approx,  topped  with  fine  black  granite  chips(2-3mm)

 [FILTER]
 Home  made  Canister  filter

 [LIGHT]
 145w(Fluorescents)  -  6500k

 [CO2]
 Pressurized  @  4bps

 [FERTILIZATION]
 EI  -  N,P,K  and  micros

 [MAINTENANCE]
 50%  weekly  water  changes

 [HARDSCAPE  MATERIALS]
 Serpentinite  rocks  and  rootwood

 Initial  hardscape

initial  planting(ferns  and  mosses  were  there  to  fill  space  temporarily  till  i  got  the  plants  I  needed)

 the  bad  times...

 and  the  bloom

 And  the  309  entry  shot...

I  admit  that  there  are  a  lot  many  flaws  with  the  entry,  like...
the  picture  was  taken  immediately  the  next  day  of  trimming  the  BG  plants(only  if  this  was  right   Sad  )
lots  of  algae  on  glass  and  a  few  other  areas
most  fishes  are  in  wrong  positions  or  hidden

I  had  to  pick  this  shot  only  due  to  reason  that  I  was  doing  some  mock  shots  then  with  all  equipment  clutter  removed,  with  back  lighting,  rocks  were  brushed  and  cleaned(the  previous  night)  and  correct  white  balance,  hence  the  best  overall  picture  of  it  till  date.  Rest  all  shots  were  carelessly  taken  just  to  document  the  progress.

My  tank  met  a  bad  fate  in  the  middle(when  I  intended  to  take  entry  pictures  sometime  in  may)  when  my  co2  system  started  giving  constant  problems,  due  to  which  I  had  to  pick  out  the  best  picture  taken  in  past  and  post  it.

For  to  the  reasons,  I  guess  my  rank  got  pushed  back  a  bit  further(because  all  that  isnt  negligible),  nevertheless,  I  am  still  glad  for  the  improvement  from  last  year.  Looking  forward  to  sharpening  my  skills  with  this  experience  and  do  better  scapes  in  future.

 Looking  forward  to  your  criticism...

Very  Nice  Scape  Hamza  !!!!  If  the  BG  Plants  were  not  trimmed  it  would  have  made  an  awesome  difference  and  pushed  you  further  up  the  ranking.  But  nonetheless  a  beautiful  tank.

I  had  the  same  issue  as  you,  I  had  pulled  out  my  HC  carpet  and  planted  it  back  again,  but  the  carpet  did  not  grow  in  time  for  submission  to  IAPLC,   I  had  taken  a  picture  as  a  progression  picture  but  with  all  equipment  inside,  I  ended  up  trimming  both  sides  where  the  equipment  was  visible  and  then  sent  the  picture,  I  lost  quite  a  bit  of  points  on  that.  Well  there  is  always  next  year  ............  Lesson  for  me  was  always  take  pictures  without  equipment,  never  know  when  you  will  need  it   Smile
