 Hi  Friends.
I  Need  help.   At  last  I  got  a  white  half  moon.I  borrowed  it  from  my  friend  for  some  time. But  he  is  in  a  bad  shape.
His  eyes  are  bit  swolen  and  translucent.Sad  He  can  see  though.
I  guess  due  to  bad  water  condition.  Tha  actual  owner  was  feeding  him  flex  and  pellets.
Otherwise  he  looks  strong.  Kept  him  in  a  breeding  tank  with  plants.

Water  Temparature  29  degrees,  Since  I  got  him  1  day  back  I  will  do  30%  Water  change  every  week  from  now  on.
added  rock  salt  and  Almonds  leaves.  Feeding  him  live  tubifexworms.
Is  there  any  safe  way  To  fix  his  eyes?  Should  I  add  epsom  salt  too?  Please  advice.

feed  him  twice  with  a  70%  water  change  daily,  the  swelling  of  the  eyes  is  called  as  popeye,  if  u  dont  take  good  care,  the  betta  will  end  up  loosing  its  eyes,
water  changes  are  the  best  remedy,  no  need  to  add  any  med's

Mudassir  is  right.  If  you  have  any  doubt  about  his  advice  you  could  always  refer  to  google  for  a  solution  to
"popeye"  and  follow  the  advice  given  there.

there  are  quite  a  few  reputed  sites  you  can  visit.

Hey  deepak,  adding  1  tsp  of  epsom  salt  per  gallon  to  the  tank  will  help  reduce  the  swelling.  Otherwise  clean  water  should  do  the  trick!  Hope  he  feels  better  soon.  Smile

 @deepak
wasnt  able  to  reply  back,  didnt  chk  the  post,
betta  breeders  do  90%  w/c  twice  a  day  for  grow  out  tanks  for  give  the  bettas  a  growth  spurt,
i  suggested  70%  for  your  betta,  mine  had  popeye  and  i  did  90%  twice  daily,  my  betta  recovered  within  a  week,  just  make  sure  u  always  provide  clean  water  and  perform  50%  w/c  once  every  3  days  atleast  to  keep  the  betta  healthy  and  happy,
if  u  can  afford  get  the  hikari  betta  bio  gold,  seen  good  results  from  this,  or  else  u  can  feed  your  betta  anythin  it  eats,  i  would  avoid  freeze  dried  bloodworms/tubifex  worms  unless  they  are  pre  soaked  in  water  for  5  minutes  or  else  it  will  lead  to  bloat
 hope  this  helps,
incase  i  dont  reply  dont  hesitate  to  send  me  a  PM/sms

Its  a  known  fact  that  fry  raised  in  a  tank  with  more  water  changes  grow  out  faster  than  fry  in  tanks  with  fewer  water  changes.

try  it  out  with  a  bunch  of  live  bearers  and  you  will  see  the  difference.  the  same  theory  applies  to  a  sick  fish.  fresh  water  in  its  self  is  beneficial  to  any  fish  let  alone  a  sick  one.

 Deepak,
Deaths  due  to  'infusoria',  would  be  more  like  deaths  due  to  ammonia.
I  myself  have  never  used  infusoria  to  raise  fry.  I  believe  in  finely  crushed  egg  yolk  and  brine  shrimp  to  do  the  job!
