I  always  wanted  to  keep  a  Leapord  Wrasse.  First  time  when  I  tried  this  fish,it  died  in  a  week  so  when  I  saw  him  at  the  LFS  about  3  weeks  ago  I  got  him.  He  did  not  come  out  of  the  sand  bed  for  about  2  week,  I  though  I  had  lost  him  too,  but  after  couple  weeks  he  is  out  and  eating  well.

@thanks  and  hope  I  can  do  justice  to  this  beautiful  fish.   This  one  and  the  melanurus  wrasse  dives  head  first  in  the  sand  bed  and  burries  themselves  at  night.  I  have  a  6  line  and  mystery  wrasse  they  build  a  cucoon  with  their  mucous  when  they  sleep.

I  also  acclimated  his  for  about  2  hrs  with  drip  acclimation  and  did  not  QT  this  fish.  I  have  learnt  that  some  fish  will  not  make  it  make  it  thru  QT  and  is  better  to  add  them  straight  to  DT.  Hard  to  keep  fish  like  Leapord  Wrasse,  Anthias,  Mandarin  and  Archilles  Tang  have  better  chance  of  making  it  when  added  directly  to  the  DT.  Doing  this  is  a  big  risk,  but  most  of  us  don't  have  QT  suitable  to  keep  these  kind  of  fish  without  stressing  them  out.

 Cool!
Wish  i  could  see  something  like  this  for  real...
i  had  seen  sometime  back  on  animal  planet  that  marine  parrot  fishes  also  make  a  cocoon  with  their  mucous  when  they  sleep.  This  is  to  prevent  their  smell  from  going  off  to  nocturnal  predators,  like  sharks.

I  am  warning  you  though,  My  mom  wont  at  all  be  happy  with  you.  You  are  igniting  the  marine  bug  inside  me  Chuckle

 Nice  Leopard!

Have  only  ever  seen  Ornate  Leopards  available  here.

Agree  with  the  no  QT  for  these  specimens.  Wrasses  are  fairly  resistant  to  ick,  and  are  more  comfortable  in  a  mature  reef  DT.
