And  you  could  do  with  a  few  more  pieces  of  live  rock  or  even  base  rock  will  do..

The  clowns  lasted  a  day  and  when  i  got  up  yesterday  i  noticed  that  both  died.

i  was  afraid  to  post  that  because  you  all  will  scold  me  and  hence  did  not  share  that  info

i  am  sorry  wont  repeat  it  without  testing  water  and  confirming  that  everything  is  zero

please  continue  to  support  me  and  dont  ignore  my  posts.

 thanks

Well,  i  would  suggest  you  get  more  rocks  soon,  and  let  the  tank  cycle  on  its  own  for  a  month...

 Thanks  Gatorx,

there  is  just  one  problem  about  adding  more  rock,

my  tank  is  very  small  as  you  all  know  12  gallon

already  there  is  little  space  around  the  rocks

if  i  add  more  rock, then  the  substate  will  be  fully  covered  with  rocks  (the  bottom  will  be  fully  covered  with  rocks)

any  method  to  add  more  rocks  without  reducing  the  bottom  area

 thanks

 VJ

You  could  try  stacking  them,  make  sure  they  are  stable  once  placed..

 Something  like  THIS.

Its  not  the  weight  of  the  rock  that  matters,  its  the  surface  area.  Thats  why  good  live  rock  will  be  big  but  weigh  less  because  they  are  porous.  Stack  up  the  rock  creating  caves  and  crevices  for  the  fish  to  hide.  When  stacking  rock,  place  them  on  the  glass  and  not  on  the  sand.  One  way  to  get  a  good  LR  is  to  pick  it  up  and  it  should  weigh  less  than  what  it  looks  like  and  don't  get  a  rock  if  it  is  dense.

Remember  as  you  add  more  rocks  there  will  be  spike  in  ammonia  so  don't  add  anymore  fish  now  and  wait  till  your  tank  settles  down.

Get  the  moli  out  of  your  tank.

 thanks  all

Dude  try  something  like  this  for  the  rocks
 http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3109/2616201281_092414c09f.jpg

 LOAD  IT  UP  WITH  LIVE-ROCKS!!
the  more,  the  merrier.  Dont  worry  about  place  for  the  fish  to  move,  its  their  problem, they  ll  move  around  somehow.  Pile  up  rocks  one  above  the  other.
Stop  adding  fish,  like  gator  said,  follow  instructions.  or  else  your  tank  will  end  up  in  a  big  disaster.or  maybe  u  gotta  do  dry  start!
i  did  the  same  exact  thing  with  my  marine  tank,  ended  up  in  a  disaster.just  chill  and  wait.
Where  are  your  TEST  KITS?  Get  urself  a  test  kit  and  hydrometer/refractometer!  without  that  your  not  good  enough  to  set  up  a  SW  tank  at  all.
and  moreover,  i  dont  see  much  current  in  tank,  your  powerhead  should  have  the  capacity  to  atleast  not  let  the  debri  /or  fish  poo  to  sit

 HI  Nick,

I  will  be  getting  the  test  kits  today  and  I  already  have  a  hydrometer  floating  type  from  BOYU.

i  am  planning  to  get  more  rocks  and  have  ordered  10  more  kg.

wont  add  fish  and  will  follow  advise  religiously.

and  i  did  not  get  you  about  the  current

do  you  mean  that  the  powerhead  is  not  stirring  the  water  enough   or  you  mean  the  powerhead  is  not  pulling  the

debris  from  the  tank  bottom  thro  the  sucker  at  the  bottom  end  of  the  powerhead.

I  think  the  sucker  is  working  fine  because  on  the  top  filter  sponge  i  have  to  clean  huge  debrii  almost  daily.

 Kindly  respond.

 Hey  ,

About  the  powerhead,  i  meant  i  cant  much  of  water  current  in  the  tank.  there  should  be  like  complete  movement  of  water,  so  that  its  an  exercise  for  the  fish,  and  so  that  fish  waste  /any  debris  doesnt  settle  in  the  substrate,  try  aiming  the  substrate  for  better  water  current/movement.
and  put  the  skimmer  behind  :)

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGtLcOj8VVE&feature=fvwrel
see  everything  moving  in  the  tank?  something  like  that,  if  u  already  have  that,  then  forget  what  i  said.

Just  add  about  3-4  more  pieces  of  rock  depending  on  size..

Don't  fill  your  tank  up  completely  with  rocks  as  it  looks  ugly  and  makes  maintenance  difficult,  it  also  creates  a  lot  of  dead  spots  due  to  lac  of  flow  in  that  area  and  a  lot  of  detritus  will  build  up  there..

Avoid  placing  rocks  against  the  glass,  and  keep  enough  space  for  your  hand  or  a  magnetic  cleaner  to  move  easily.

As  for  the  wavemaker  pump,  I  still  say  go  with  the  hydor  nano,  takes  up  less  space  and  gives  a  good  amount  of  flow..

You  will  have  to  order  it  online  and  have  it  shipped.

thanks  nick  and  gatorx  for  your  advise.

My  system  at  home  crashed  and  so  could  not  reply  earlier.apologies!

Nick  regading  the  skimmer  i  would  love  to  put  it  at  the  back  but  am  unable  to  because  the  top  filter  sits  on  th  back  part  of  the  tank.

so  the  only  way  is  where  it  is  currently  placed  now.

and  gatorx  i  will  ensure  that  the  rocks  are  not  clogging  the  walls  of  the  tank.

also  for  the  wavemaker  pump  can  you  please  send  me  a  pm  on  where  to  order  it  online  and  what  will  be  the  approx  cost,

also  since  my  tank  is  12  gallon  and  small  please  recommend  a  suitable  model  too.

 thanks  for  that.

My  question  to  you  now  is  that  this  item  comes  to  approx  15xx.

I  was  going  through  the  indiapetstore  website  and  saw  this

 http://indiapetstore.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=9_27&products_id=1051

I  just  wanted  to  ask  you  whether  i  can  buy  this  and  connect  it  to  my  600lph  powerhead.

 would  that  suffice?

 Thanks
