 Thanks,  Ravi  Smile

 To  continue......

next  day  every  body  was  awake  at  4.00am.  After  a  cool  freezing  bath(Me  and  Deepak  only  Mad  ,  no  hot  water  and  the  rest  were  afraid  of  the  cold  water)  we  set  off.  A  fresh  strong  tea  at  the  tea  stall  wonderful,  I  came  across  the  most  atrocious  road  I  have  ever  driven  on.  Scraping  the  bottom  of  the  car  at  a  couple  of  places,  I  was  forced  to  ask  my  mates  to  get  down  at  a  few  tricky  terrain.  Luckily  nothing  damaged.  And  the  second  problem  was  the  fogging  of  the  wind  shield.  If  AC  switched  off  the  inside  fogs,  if  AC  switched  on  the  outside  fogs!  So  a  combination  of  both  the  AC  and  the  screen  wiper  made  a  perilous  journey  possible.

Finally  arrived  at  the  first  habitat  of  the  second  day  at  5.30am.

A  picture  at  5.35am  in  torch  light.

I  could  not  open  the  lens  cap  without  the  lens  getting  fogged.

Had  to  wipe  the  lens  every  time  I  wanted  to  take  a  pic.  At  6.00am.

 At  6.30am

An  idea  of  the  mist  we  had  driven  through.  At  6.45  it  had  reduced  considerably.  But  still  have  a  look  yourself.

 At  6.45  am  the  habitat.

The  catches  were  a  un-idied  Schistura  Sp.(  I  do  not  have  any  pics  from  In-situ,  and  they  are  too  shy  now  for  me  to  take  a  pic.  Might  be  in  a  couple  of  days),  a  few  wood  shrimps  and  a  whole  lot  of  water  insects.  We  even  caught  a  water  centipede  here.

On  the  way  back  to  our  place  of  our  stay  we  came  across  a  sad  sight.  A  road  kill  Sad

This  was  the  view  that  greeted  us  at  7.30am  from  the  roof  of  our  place  of  stay!

 To  be  continued.
 Regards

Yeah  exactly!  That's  why  I'm  asking  you  to  finish  off  your  filamentosus  work  soon.

Not  sure  of  who's  validating  it  Marc.   Just  that  our  Chetta  told  me  its  under  validation.   I  haven't  counted  on  the  rays,  but  what  I  collected  from  Maharashtra  do  look  different  from  these.   Even  in  the  wild,  the  ones  from  Maharashtra  were  always  in  open  waters  whereas  these  were  always  found  under  rocks/leaf  litter.

Cool,  if  Chetta  is  interested  ask  him  to  check  out  my  shelf  next  time  he  hits  ZSI.  There  are  a  few  Acanthocobitis  in  it.

We  stopped  at  this  spot  next.

The  third  Habitat  of  the  second  day,  at  approx  10.30am.  Fishchasers©  already  hard  at  work,  Before  I  could  park  my  car  and  follow  them.

Walking  back  to  my  car  I  was  suddenly  struck  by  the  loneliness.  Nobody  to  ask  me  "  What  have  you  caught  ,re?".  My  forlorn  car  standing  by  a  isolated  road,  with  nobody  to  make  sure  she  was  locked,  safe  and  away  from  sunlight.  Not  sure  who  miss  him  more,  me  or  my  car.

 In  earlier  times,

 I  miss  you,  Trevor!

GREAT  GOING  GUYS....  LUV  IT....

 Worlimen,  Thank  you  Smile

 To  continue....

The  previous  both  habitats  netted  us  nothing  more  than  Danio  rerio  and  several  small  specimens  of  Loaches  respectively,  which  we  promptly  released  back.

Driving  further  we  came  across  this  spectacle  of  a  Earth  mover  clearing  a  Laterite  hill.  The  red  earth  you  see  is  pure  dee  Laterite.  Enough  for  all  the  IAH'ians  and  then  some.

The  Fishchasers©  in  the  lap  of  the  Western  Ghats.

The  fourth  Habitat  of  the  second  day.

Netted  us  nothing  and  to  add  to  the  misery  achieved  a  hole  in  the  smaller  cast  net.  Look  at  the  faces  of  the  Fishchasers©

A  bit  upstream,  checking  out  a  leaf  litter.

 Netted  us  a  Mystus  Sp.

The  dense  thorny  thicket  on  the  banks.

Forcing  us  to  walk  upstream  through  the  stream  itself.

As  if  we  did  not  have  troubles  enough,  now  this.  Get  one  in  your  shirt....  no  wait......  better  still....in  your  drawers  and  you  will  have  enough  fun  in  life.  OOOOH  BOY!

Making  the  best  of  a  bad  situation,  tried  my  artistic  instinct  again.  A  thousand  suns  blazing......

The  bane  of  the  Western  Ghats,  Sand  mining....And  they  blame  us  Hobbyists.  Stop  this,  you  @#$%@  if  you  can!

Change  of  water  in  progress  for  all  the  catches  of  the  day.

 To  be  continued.....
Tomorrow  and  day  after  tomorrow  is  Chitchat  day,  please  feel  free  to  comment.  Smile

Interestign  than  any  Blogs  ,  Magazines  or  Stories..  Real  time  experience  with  known  fellow  beings  and  lot  of  picture  to  boost  our  imagination  and  making  the  interest  of  chasing  fish  in  our  deep  under...  Also  helps  uo  to  know  about  the  place,  biotope,  flora  and  fauna  details..  Awesome..  It  is  like  visulizing  a  NatGeo  or  Discovery  field  trips  in  words  and  pictures   Thumb Up

Nayak,  your  skills  at  keeping  us  on  the  edge  with  your  travelogues  on  fish  chasing  is  awesome.  I  have  probably  checked  for  updates  more  number  times  these  past  few  days  than  the  whole  of  last  month.  Please  keep  posting  about  the  rest  of  the  trip!!!

I  am  missing  Trevor  very  much,  There  was  never  a  quite  moment  with  him,  he  used  to  always  keep  us  in  merry  spirits  during  the  trips!!
