Hi guys Iam planning to add scavenger to my discus tank which is 36x15x18.
I have 5 3inches discus in it and recently I added driftwood in the tank and hence find it is necessary to add a scavenger which would graze the drift wood.
I have stuck in between corys and pleco. i dont want to add both as that would increase my bioload.
single pleco would disturb the peace of these kings especially at night
I request experienced guys give their opinion |

Emmanuel,
I have a couple of bristlenose plecos in my tank and primarily due to their relatively small size they have not able to threaten the fishes.
As a matter of fact I have seen huge albino plecos in Shiva Nair's tank which have been specifically chosen due to their weaker eyesight.
A thumb rule is to keep bigger plecos with smaller fishes and vice versa.
As for your tank, very healthy juvies and a nice clean setup!Keep it up! |

Corydoras Sp. will not graze on driftwood. They have their own specific requirement.

Nice discus
And nice setup.you are a proud owner of some good quality discus.
Please dont introduce any kind of plecos because on day they will start attacking your kings for sure.
You can surely go for 4-6 no of corys in your tank |

Lovely discus and driftwood!!
I have three bristlenose plecos with a pair of discus in my planted tank…… so far I haven’t seen bristlenose plecos bothering Discus.
Coolie loach or Corydoras will not help you in cleaning your driftwood and aquarium glass, rightly said by Nayak. |

Corydora spp. will do best if there is a layer of extremely fine sand as substrate. They will eat any sinking fish food. |
