Is this a new tank?
Seems like Caldophora
In medium/less lights it is brown in colour.
I recently had a very bad attack of this algae in my tank.
I was able to tackle it by increasing lights, sucking out all algae during heavy water changes, using gluteraldehyde.
It is now almost gone in my tank, some area still have it but it is not spreading. |

Increase your CO2 levels by atleast double. How are you diffusing CO2 in your tank ?
Keep lights on for 6hrs only. Remove as much algae as you can by hand regularly. Spot treat the algae with flourish excel |

Increase CO2 and start dosing ferts !! Dont deprive your plants of fertilizers !! Remove as much of the algae as you can manually and spot treat the rest with flourish excel. Reduce light period to 6-7 hrs and ensure good flow all over your tank |

60 BPS ??? Hope its not a fountain on CO2 inside tank!!! Usually people use 3-4 bps at max. Algae in first pic needs to be ruthlessly torn and taken out every time you notice. For algae in second pic, its usually due to low or fluctuating CO2 supply but I am wondering why it is inspite of such his CO2 levels. Since its a new tank, I suggest you to do 50% water change twice a week for next month. Spot dosing of Flourish Excel or 25% concentrate Glut ( max 2 ml )will help you to get rid of brown algae. I have done and it and got rid of it.

There is normally a brown algae attack on new tanks that is being cycled. |
