before  getting  in  to  marine  tank  read  lot  of  stuff  about  marine  tank

also  in  tamilnadu  summer  it  may  go  to  38-40*c  outside  and  tank  temp  go  up  to  33*c  so  even  in  fish  only  setup  u  may  need  chiller  to  have  stable  temp.

And  iam  not  sure  in  kovai  any  aquarium  has  marine  stuff  better  go  to  chennai  to  get  stocks  and  all  other  stuffs.

Well,  before  you  setup  a  marine  tank..

Do  some  reading  up  on  the  equipments  required,  filtration  process,  nitrogen  cycle,  water  changes,  etc..

It's  an  expensive  hobby,  so  you  got  to  have  a  big  budget  if  you  want  a  decent  marine  tank...

Fresh  water  tanks  to  marine  set  up  is  the  natural  transition  which  any  hobbiests  would  do..  But  .......  it  has  got  its  own  ups  &  downs!!!!

Read  a  lot,  visit  many  marine  /  reef  forums,  collect  information  and  then  take  a  plunge.

Look  at  consistently  maintaining  the  set  up  for  longer  durations  rather  than  falling  in  to  short  term  temptations.  Beleive  me,  you  will  end  up  saving  lots  of  money  either  ways.

My  friend,  "Live  Rock"  is  illegal  to  keep.  Its  illegal  in  India  to  keep  live  rock  and  Corals..

So  please  read  up  more  to  understand  about  these...You  need  to  read  more  and  more..

"canister  filter  is  enough  for  fish  and  live  rocks  alone  if  i  go  for  corals  and  other  things  protein  skimmer  and  filtration  such  as  diy  sump  will  be  required  in  my  case  its  enough  he  said  me"

Protein  Skimmer  is  required  even  if  you  have  only  FO  tank.  If  you  dont  have  protein  skimmer,  you  will  end  up  in  changing  water  frequently.  So  whatever  you  have  told  is  not  100%  accurate.

So  please  read  and  read.  You  can  go  through  lots  of  posts  in  IAH.

Depends  on  what  you  are  intending  to  keep  and  your  maintenance  schedule.

If  you  are  keeping  only  few  clowns  &  damsels  in  a  3  footer  and  able  to  change  25%  water  every  week  in  a  3  footer  then  external  filter  with  skimmer  is  sufficient.

if  you  are  planning  for  a  even  bigger  tank  with  more  bio  load  then  sump  with  skimmer  is  required.

All  depends  on  the  bio  load  and  your  water  changes.

With  the  hot  climate  in  CBE,  it  would  be  very  difficult  to  keep  a  marine  aquarium.

in  fishonly,  go  for  basic.  dosent  require  much  care  once  the  tank  is  cycled.  during  summers,  increase  the  surface  turbulence.  the  hotter  the  water,  the  lesser  the  oxygen  in  water  and  the  cooler  the  water,  the  more  the  oxygen  in  water.  increasing  the  water  surface  turbulence,  the  more  gas  exchange  and  more  oxygen  in  water.  chiller  will  be  a  waste.  i  know  some  one  who  has  kept  FO  tanks  in  open  and  even  with  temp  high  34-35C,  nothing  died.  only  worry  if  you  keeping  corals.  and  keep  the  stock  of  fish  low.  1  fish  per  15  gallon.  add  an  oversized  protien  skimmer  as  the  main  filteration  in  sump  or  HOB  or  internal.
