Guppies  give  more  than  2  fries.  Have  you  any  plants  because  they  are  needed  for  the  fry  to  get  some  place  for  hiding  or  else  the  parents  tend  to  eat  up  the  fry.in  yor  tank

Hi  Suneal,  Yes,  i  have  a  artificial  plant  and  a  coconut  cave.  I  guess  there  is  enough  hiding  place  for  them.  But  my  guppy  pair  share  tank  with  a  highly  active  goldfish.  May  be  he's  eaten  them.  Nothing  can  hide  from  my  goldfish,  he's  super  active  all  the  time.

Suneal,  i  guess  you  where  looking  for  blue  moscows  too.  did  you  get  them  ?

 @  Libero
Is  this  the  same  guppy  pair  you  took  from  me.
Try  and  conserve  their  babies,  they  are  of  good  quality.

Yes  Mansoor.  They  are  from  the  pair  from  you  !  Thumb Up
Yes,  after  visiting  your  home,  i  was  damn  sure  that  you  gave  me  the  best  quality  breed   Thumbs Up

Don't  worry,  i  am  taking  good  care  of  them  all.  I  just  am  not  sure  why  did  i  see  only  two  babies.  However  i  never  expected  babies  so  soon  !  i  mean  the  parents  are  still  small,  aren't  they  ?  Shocked

Mansoor,  can  you  please  let  me  know  if  this  is  normal  for  them  to  breed  at  such  young  age.

 Hi  Libero
Guppy  female  does  mature  when  being  approximately  3  months  old,  males  use  to  mature  a  little  sooner.
So  it  is  not  uncommon  to  have  guppy  babies  at  this  size.

 Hi  Deba,
Thanks  for  your  inputs.  I  have  already  separated  them,  and  the  best  part  is  they  are  eating  well  and  look  very  active  and  healthy.
I  think  their  parents  and/or  my  goldfish  have  already  eaten  many  of  them,  as  i  only  found  two  fries  in  my  tank  after  i  returned  from  my  office.

I  am  soon  to  buy  a  bigger  tank  for  my  goldfish.  Can  someone  recommend  a  minimum  size  that  i  should  go  for  my  single  goldfish  (he's  now  about  5  cm  from  head  to  tail).  I  know  i  have  to  buy  the  biggest  my  budget  allows,  but  still  would  like  to  know  the  minimum  i  should  opt  for.

Tank  size  and  budget  and  a  gold  fish  is  a  'Catch  22'  situation   Very Happy

 Ram_a_Rosi,
Thank  you  for  your  prompt  reply  and  dimensions.  I  will  get  a  tank  matching  that  specs.  umm..  not  sure  if  i  will  leave  my  goldfish  alone,  i  mean  i  wont  add  any  big  species  to  it,but  a  few  guppies  will  surely  be  added  to  it  in  future  and  maybe  a  snail.  For  some  reason,  i  am  fascinated  my  snails  !  but  am  reluctant  to  get  one  due  to  their  insane  breeding.

10  Gallon  is  more  then  enough  for  a  breeding  trio.  Which  also  holds  good  for  even  the  babies.  Just  make  sure  males  and  females  are  separated  as  soon  as  you  can  identify  the  sexes.  These  fishes  go  on  reproduction  mode  soon  after  which  their  growth  stops.

dabbu,  that's  a  great  piece  of  advice  !  Yes,  i  guess  i  should  separate  my  current  male  &  female  guppies  too.  Thanks  a  lot.  Damn...  i  dont  have  a  spare  tank  to  separate  at  the  moment.  Will  have  to  buy  one  very  soon.

Can  anyone  comment  if  blue  moscows  give  birth  only  to  very  few  babies.

How  did  i  miss  this??  anyway  its  better  late  then  never,  isn't  it?

 Dear  Libero,

Congratulations  on  the  Guppy  babies  and  thanks  for  sharing  the  really  arty  pictures.  I'm  sure  your  life  is  now  complete  with  the  two  Russian  bundles  of  joy.  I  hope  you're  not  neglecting  Goldie  now  because  older  siblings  often  feel  jealous  of  the  younger  ones.

 Yours  sincerely  Sid.
