 Hi  IAH  Members,

How  effective  is  the  Seachem  flourish  Excel  as  an  alternative  to  pressurized  CO2.
Mine  is  a  medium  planted  tank  which  is  well  lit,  as  I  can't  invest  in  pressurized  CO2  at  the  moment  can  i  use  excel.
As  I'm  using  Caribsea  Ecocomplete  as  substrate,  will  flourish  excel  react  with  the  substrate.

Any  Flourish  excel  users  pls  provide  your  inputs.

I  need  your  opinions  on  flourish  excel  and  the  effect  on  plants.

 Thanks,
 Shreyas  C

Flourish  Excel  is  good  for  small  planted  tanks  and  keeps  your  algae  down.......but  nothing  replaces  a  pressurised  CO2  but  its  cumbersome  and  a  proper  setup  is  quiet  expensive.......I  have  used  it,  its  good  but  dont  use  it  in  excess  as  it  will  kill  your  fish  and  even  some  moss  may  melt.....  Smile

Yes.  Flourish  excel  will  not  be  cost  effective  for  a  bigger  tank.  For  bigger  tanks,  its  always  best  to  have  pressurized  setup.

For  a  20gallon  tank  it  would  work  well.

Nothing  can  beat  a  pressurized  CO2  setup  (have  tried  Excel  and  glut  as  well  but  the  results  that  a  pressurized  system  will  give  you  is  just  amazing).......

If  pressurized  CO2  is  10  out  of  10  then  Flourish  Excel  is  a  6  out  of  10  with  algae  killing  properties.  Good  enough  in  a  low-med  light  small  tank

cannot  replace  CO2  with  flourish  excel.  on  the  other  hand,  little  flourish  dosing  with  CO2  works  wonders.

nothing  can  ever  replace  co2.  but  if  you  have  a  tank  less  than  5gal,  flourish  rocks.  it  has  glut  1.5%.  i  use  it  in  my  big  tanks  for  algae  control.
