Libero,  is  there  a  possibility  you  can  capture  your  moscows  from  the  front  view?

Any  tips  on  how  to  capture  pics  of  fishes?  i  don't  have  a  digi  cam..  but  use  my  cell  phone  camera  which  does  not  result  in  very  good  picture  quality.  I  wonder  how  you  took  your  pics  !!  how  did  you  make  background  black  with  only  fish  in  focus?

Sure,  i  will  post  my  front-view  pics  of  guppies  when  i  reach  home.

For  general  fish  photogrphy,  a  cell  phone  camera  is  suffice.   You're  not  sending  the  photo  for  fish  photo  competion.   Just  a  general  shot  for  reference  only,  right.

BTW,  my  photo  which  you  referred  to,  was  taken  using  2  flashes.  One  built-in  at  my  Nikon  D70s  and  the  other,  a  Nikon  Speedlite  SB600  -  which  is  used  as  an  off  hook  flash  and  applying  the  commander  and  slave  units  method.   In  Nikon,  it  is  called  Creative  Lighting  System  (CLS)  flash  photography.   Quite  tricky  but  with  proper  method,  it  can  be  done.

Hi  Gandhi,  you  are  absolutely  correct  !  They  are  blue  moscows.  I  am  glad  that  you  liked  them.  They  have  recently  given  3  fries   Thumbs Up   which  i  plan  to  soon  give  away  to  fellow  hobbyist.  I  am  unable  to  post  pics  of  fries  as  they  are  too  small  to  be  captured  by  my  N96  camera.

I  plan  to  get  a  3  feet  tank  for  my  single  goldfish  this  sunday!

 Dear  libero  dada,

Ki  korbo?  thanks  for  sharing  the  artistically  foggy  pictures.  it  must  be  winter  where  you  are.  Once  when  i  was  2  years  old  i  had  gone  to  a  hill  station  in  winter  and  my  pictures  were  foggy  too.  Are  you  sure  the  fries  are  Moscow  and  not  french.  I  strongly  suspect  they  are  French.

Anyway  nice  fish.  and  please  keep  posting.  We  would  love  to  see  Assimodus's  new  tank.   :cheering:

 Yours  Sincerely  Sid.

Please  post  your  pic  when  you  where  2  yrs  old  at  that  hill  station.  will  you  ?

The  baby  guppy  will  develop  black  pigment  by  two  to  three  weeks  from  birth.  This  is  why  you  initially  see  black  streaks  near  the  caudal  peduncle.  They  will  develop  yellows  and  reds  in  another  week  or  two.  Iridescent  colours  such  as  blues  and  greens  will  show  up  late.

Be  it  a  moscow  or  a  feeder  guppy,  all  will  give  birth  to  fry  ranging  from  as  less  as  4  to  80.  It  depends  according  to  the  females  age.  May  be  she  snacked  a  few  to  check  whether  they  are  dinner  or  breakfast  :p.

By  the  way  are  you  sure  that  female  is  a  moscow?  It  looks  more  like  half  black.

It's  difficult  to  be  sure  if  its  really  a  moscow.  I  got  them  from  a  hobbyist,  and  hence  assume  his  expert  knowledge  to  be  right  for  these  blue  moscow  pair.

 Ok,  got  new  tank.

Have  a  look.  its  2  feet  [24"x12"x12"]  with  about  50Lts  capacity.

 My  previous  tank:

 Guppy  fries:

 Both  tanks  beside  each  other:

Guppy  strains  such  as  albinos,  lutinos  and  full  blacks  are  more  prone  to  diseases.  So  providing  a  good  space  for  the  fry  is  ideal.

The  new  tank  has  only  3  members  -  1  goldfish  (2.5  inches)  and  moscow  blue  guppy  pair  !  The  smaller  tank  houses  the  fries.

I  hope  my  new  tank  becomes  home  for  those  extra  fishes  ppl  get  and  wonder  what  to  do  ?  Smile
No  plans  for  any  addition  rather  that  a  snail...  don't  ask  why..  i  am  just  facinated  by  snails,  but  just  cant's  find  in  my  LFS...  Hope  i  get  one  soon   Very Happy
