Hey Surya, thanks mate. People are excited as the same picture had gone in. If it was the case like Bhushan mentioned, same tank with current picture then also, it would have been subjected to point deduction, as the most basic expectation from any participant is a fresh scape. How ever it is not the case. It is more of a case of old wine, as times keeps going the same tank pic keeps winning prize after another. If so is the case, then why make new scapes at all? Why take all the pain my dear? Hamza could very well post his last years tank and got the same rank or may be better. And Deb ghosh who is also there in top 200 does not need to build any other tank in his life. He has guaranteed his position of top 200 for all the remaining IAPLC competitions. This is ridiculous.
Next, when you say why all this cribbing etc,it is because this is not a Sunday afternoon football game in the park. If you loose that game, then there is always a return match on the next Sunday where you can level your scores. This on the contrary takes a lot of passion, patience, skill, money and many other things, to come up with good tanks. So people are damn serious about this. Serious scapers work all the year to make a tank that can compete internationally. Competition is so bloody stiff today and then after doing everything with full passion, honesty and steam, it is really demotivating to see many of the tanks that have come up in top 200. Believe me, if you observe minutely you will see many entries are controversial like this one. This is not a one of case but this happens regularly, every year. Why we have not raised our voices before? Frankly because there was not much chance that we could crack top 200, then. Now, that we are also getting skilled to the level where we have started to dream about getting into top 200, you will hear these kind of shouts more often my friend. No one is willing to sit quietly and let others enjoy the glory that actually belonged to them.
Lastly, regarding me featuring in top 500, I do not know man, I am trying my best. Wish I had a tank that I could post every year and get top 200 on a regular basis. May be I need to learn few more tricks from my friends.

Well lots of quick brew.
I was not on the panel of the Judging for the IAPLC so far and of the 2012 entries that have been received from 63 countries it has taken a while for the ADA steering committee and also Mr. Amano to review and select the Top 200 layouts for this year.
I understand the controversy as to how the tank has come up again and again and also the age of the tank. I dont think while judging ADA looked at the history of the tank when they have to look at 2000 + tanks its a bit difficult, but am sure in the future we will see that there is a system to dismiss applications if it is re submitted.
Infact controversies like this crop up every year when you have so many entries and so few domain experts on this subject and that is precisely the reason why ADA decided to have an online voting system under full public review. Now all the contestants and the store owners can vote in or vote out the scape of their choice. The decision is still in your hands!!
Understanding all these conditions and also knowing the fact that we in India are not exposed to Nature Aquarium but are fast catching up we hosted "The Great Indian Aquascaping contest". This is a platform to recognize the talent within our borders without any foreign contestants. We hope and pray that we make full use of this platform and make the most of it to learn quickly and catch up with the International aquascaping scene.
We have a plan one day that we want to groom the top aquascapist in India and equip him with all that he needs to bring the Top prize and the Glory to India. I envy the colors flying every year at the IAPLC and it is my earnest desire to see the Indian flag fluttering some time soon.
One day some time in the future...... my dream (Sorry...if i may say every India's desire)
So lets unite guys and help each other as we learn from our mistakes and take on Aquascaping for the next contest.

Nothing personal guys, but I too agree that this year judgment is not at all fair. I can see couple of old entries in top 200 segments. This is really bad and I too send my concern to ADA.
I request all (who all feel this judgment is not fair) can send a mail to support [at] iaplc [dot] com so that in future the panel can do a fair judgment.

Have you guys seen all the 1000+ entries to judge some of them shouldn't be there in the top 200 ?
Or is it only the repeat entries you have a grouse about ?
The rules seem to indicate that points will be deducted for a scape that has been submitted the year earlier,
so depending on the rest of the field maybe this scape managed to make it within 200 after points deduction !
Entering the same pic every alternate year or once in 3 years may help get into the top 200, and if it still ranks somewhere close to what it did previously,
the good news is the standards worldwide are stagnant or are falling ( points deductions ), so the rest have a chance to catch up,
but this is something to take up with ADA and IAPLC directly and not look at IAH as an agony aunt !
If there is a loophole in the rules, what's wrong with exploiting it ? but for that you first need to make a tank that gets into the top 200 somehow !
For me personally. it would be interesting to hear from IAPLC if points were deducted for resubmitted photographs !
Look at the good side folks, the world is not running away with stunning layouts, so everyone has a chance to catch up to the 200.
You can spend all the money you want, buy the most expensive products, and if that still doesn't get you in the 200, I suggest you introspect !
The first 30 in the IAPLC are what matter, that is where the best ideas are showcased,
the rest could have been achieved by anyone with some effort IMHO.
Don't look at the nitty gritty of IAPLC and it's rules and waste your time, spend your energies to get into the top 200, and BTW don't ever try to resubmit the same photograph after a couple of years !
From now on the jobless police will be scanning every successful ( if top 200 can be called that ) Indian entry with a microscope !

aquadip nice writ up .
but when .
if this thing repeated every year . people like to learn Photoshop and make scapes out of that
Photoshop is much much more easier than aquascaping .
example we spend months to make a hardscape after plant and we put soo much afford on top of a scape only aim is IAPLC so instead of doing all this make simple scapws with only i rock and plant resia r do Photoshop in one night can make one beautiful scape this is much more easy
