Sandeep  Raghuvanshi,
Great  point.  I  think  all  three  parameters  are  required  for  a  stable  setup.
 govindsj

That  was  my  analysis  for  this  particular  tank,  there  may  be  many  more  reasons  which  eluded  me,  but  the  solution  seems  to  have  worked.  Smile

Sandeep,  its  an  interesting  point  you  have  mentioned.  I  found  that  some  websites  mentioning  that  the  permissible  level  for  Mg  for  a  planted  tank  is  2-5ppm.  Also  it  has  been  mentioned  that  the  plant  growth  is  good  if  the  proper  Ca:Mg  ratio  is  maintained.  Do  you  have  any  information  that  you  have  gathered  on  what  should  be  the  permissible  level  of  Ca  and  Mg  in  a  water  for  the  proper  plant  growth?

Most  of  the  literature  that  I  have  seen  is  geared  towards  minimum  levels  of  Gh  &  KH.
Gh  refers  to  General  Hardness  and  is  a  measure  of  Ca++  &  Mg  ++,  there  are  other  ions  also  but  they  are  fewer  in  numbers  and  difficult  to  measure.
Gh  is  measured  in  both  ppm  &  german  dh  ,  to  convert  ppm  to  dh  divide  by  17.89.
In  aquariums  water  between  4-8  dh  is  said  to  be  soft,  8-12dh  medium  hard,  12-18dh  failry  hard,  18-30dh  hard,  >  30  liquid  rock.
For  planted  tanks  it  is  often  said  to  have  a  Gh  of  at  least  5.

 Great  efforts!

It  was  interesting  to  see  you  using  Ferrous  Gluconate  for  Fe  supplementation.
Could  you  please  provide  some  guidance  on  where  you  got  it?

 Thanks!

Nice  green.  There  is  no  aquaplaning  but  it  is  great  that  you  got  success  in  growing  plants  in  first  attempt  and  extreme  temperature  of  Mathura.

Ferrous  gluconate  is  also  used  by  Seachem  Iron,  they  claim  that  it  is  a  better  alternative  than  other  Iron  chelates.
Maybe  it  is  their  marketing,  but  they  have  also  presented  a  paper  in  AGA  converntion  stating  the  same.
 http://www.seachem.com/support/forums/showthread.php?t=2840

Anyway  I  purchased  it  from  a  shop  that  supplies  lab  chemicals.  it  comes  in  500  g  packs.
You  disslove  15  gm  in  1  lit  of  water.
2.5  ml  of  this  gives  me  .025  ppm  in  my  45  g  tank.
The  results  have  been  good  so  far.

It  is  cooled  by  a  4"  aquarium  fan.  The  temp  remains  in  range  of  28-30  C.
I  will  try  to  upload  another  picture,  but  I  doubt  if  you  will  see  any  fish,  there  are  not  many,  and  they  tend  to  hide  in  dense  vegetation.

Aquascaping  was  not  attempted  in  this  tank.  Smile
However  I  am  trying  a  u  shape  by  trimming  of  stem  plants  at  back,  got  some  ideas  from  a  Amano  article.
I  might  try  it  next  time,  maybe  another  setup.
Gathering  of  material  required  will  again  take  months.

Very  nice  Sandeep  love  the  lush  green  look  !  Now  that  you  have  mastered  the  basics  try  your  hand  at  other  stem  plants  and  foreground  plants.  All  the  best  to  you  !

Now  you  can  increase  the  fishes  to  fully  complete  the  set-up,  but  please  post  a  picture  of  the  whole  tank  from  3  feet  away,  only  then  it  will  show  how  much  effort  it  has  taken  Smile
