hi shelly..
i see that you use acrylic for most of your DIY , how and what do you use to cut the acrylic with precision and finish
|
Yes. Because they are strong. I cut and make the finish myself.
|
I guess Ricky wanted to know the tool that you use to cut and then finish the acrylic
Cheers,
Binesh |

Its been a very long time since I had updated this post.
So the story continues...
The most common term in IAH "ALGAE"!!!
My tank was severely infected with staghorn algae. The algae was mainly on hair grass and the christmas moss tied in the driftwood. When my dosing, co2 and lighting was in proper, I was unable to find out the main reason for this algae.
Tried removing the algae manually most of the times. But it still surfaced. I had trimmed the hair grass thrice from the bottom to get rid of the nuisance algae. But still I was unable to phase out this algae. All my plants where looking healthy. In time, I had to remove all the moss attached to the driftwood as I sprayed H2O2 which made the algae dead. But H2O2 impacted moss too.. In one weeks time, the moss was also dead.
And finally I was able to find the main reason behind this algae growth. Bacopa which was looking healthy when seen from the top was actually rotting at the bottom. And this was giving lots of dead leaves. Once I removed the Bacopa, I was able to control the algae in the tank. In time, the algae was completely phased out from the tank.
After the algae issue, there were lots of changes in my aquarium. I took out all the driftwood from the tank. Since I had to remove the entire moss from the drift wood, the wood was looking empty and I didn't like it. Here are some of the pics of the tank.
HC picking up slowly.
