I  am  trying  to  setup  DIY  CO2  yeast  approach.  I  have  couple  of  doubts  before  I  start  buying  materials.

 1)  How  do  I  seal  the  tube  with  the  bottle  cap?  is  there  a  cap  which  comes  with  a  tube  at  the  top?
 2)  How  much  BPS  is  required  for  my  tank?  30G  planted  tank.
 3)  I  have  2  flourescent  tubelights  20W  each?  will  it  be  suffiecient  for  a  30G  tank?  I  am  aware  3-5W/g  lighting  is  required  for  plants,  but  I  believe  these  flourescent  bulbs  produce  more  light  than  a  normal  20W  bulbs.
So  these  2  bulbs  is  equivalent  of  a  100W  standard  bulb.  Correct  me  if  I  am  wrong.

 My  tank  specification
 1)  30G
 2)  2KG  Vermicompost
 3)  12KG  Aqua  Clay  on  top  of  the  fertiliser
 4)  Plants  -  Amazaon  sword,Malayan  fern,Cabomba,  and  few  unknown  plants.

 Thanks
 Gokul

 Gokul,
   1)  How  do  I  seal  the  tube  with  the  bottle  cap?  is  there  a  cap  which  comes  with  a  tube  at  the  top?
 a)  you  need  to  make  hole  which  fits  the  tube  tightly,  so  the  hole  must  be  a  bit  smaller  than  the  tube..

 2)  How  much  BPS  is  required  for  my  tank?  30G  planted  tank.
 a)  You  will  have  to  go  with  what  ever  the  yeast  bottle  provides,  since  there  will  be  little  you  and  do  to  control  it  in  terms  of  BPS.
or  else  you  need  to  go  for  pressurized  ones.

Correct  me  if  I  am  wrong.
 a)  Your  tank  needs  minimum  60w  of  florescent  light  only  if  the  height  of  the  tank  is  12  inches.  watts/gallon  ratings  are  based  on  florescent  lighting  and  not  standard  bulbs..  the  wattage  goes  up  as  the  height  of  the  tank  increases  for  your  tank  size.

To  connect  the  tube  to  the  bottle  cap  what  I  did  is  as  below.

Connected  one  end  of  the  tube  to  a  tube  connecter.  They  are  used  to  connect  two  tubes  together  to  extend  length.
Then  make  a  small  hole  with  a  half  inch  nail  at  the  center  of  the  bottle  cap.
Press  the  other  end  of  the  tube  connecter  in  the  hole  and  use  fevikwik  to  seal  the  connecter.

Thats  a  good  idea,  it  will  give  a  good  hold  on  to  the  bottle.  I  will  try  that  out  today  and  let  everyone  know  the  results.

Btw  as  nidhi  had  mentioned  I  need  more  lighting!  may  be  60W+,  but  I  have  an  imported  tank  which  came  with  a  2ft  X  2  tubelight  holder.
So  I  can  use  only  2X20W  tube  bulbs!  What  I  was  thinking  is  to  replace  the  tube  header  with  a  standard  bulb  head,  so  I  can  fit  4X36W  bulbs!
But  will  this  work?  Can  I  use  standard  bulb  holder  in  place  of  a  tube  holder?
