 Its  rhizoclonium  algae  I  guess.

Do  share  your  tank  details  so  that  a  better  troubleshooting  could  be  done.   Smile

Put  in  some  mollies,  keep  them  hungry.
 They  will  finish  this  algae.
 Remember  not  to  feed  them.
Black  out  will  have  no  effect,  it  comes  in  low  light,  in  high  lights  it  would  turn  green.
You  seem  to  have  excess  ammonia  in  your  tank.

 Saheb,
Do  you  need  that  kind  of  lighting..?  it  is  almost  4.5  W/G.
I  would  suggest  remove  one  tube  from  the  lighting,  and  dose  glutaraldehyde  of  1.5%  solution.  10ml  every  day  for  a  month  or  so  and  later  start  reducing  1ml  every  week.
If  you  have  riccia  and  vallisneria  remove  them  since  they  melt  away  with  this  treatment,  and  hope  you  don't  have  shrimps.

You  cannot  kill  algae  by  reducing  nutrients,  it  will  only  help  algae.
Plan  for  getting  good  growth  in  plants  and  algae  will  be  controlled.
I  don't  know  if  gluteraldehyde  will  be  effective  for  this  algae,  it  basically  controls  bga  and  diatoms  to  some  extent.

 1)  Lighting  is  very  high,  reduce  the  PLL  to  2  number.
 2)  Clean  the  algae  with  the  help  of  Coconut  tree  leaf  stick,  with  the  end  splited.
 3)  Complete  blackout  for  3  days  (some  plant  will  die).  Or  remove  plants  and  give  bleach  bath  for  1  min.
 4)  Stop  dosing  nutrition  (liquid)  for  time  being
 5)  Give  consistent  CO2  dosing  during  lighting  period
 6)  Add  algae  eaters  like  mollies  (original  black),  algae  eaters  are  better  in  prevention/maintenance  rather  then  fire  fighting  situation

if  your  in  Chennai,  PM  me  your  contact  i  will  help  you  personally.

Seems  like  less  CO2  is  the  culprit.  Plus,  proper  distribution  of  CO2.  Increase  your  bubble  rate.  Also,  how  are  you  diffusing  the  CO2  ?

What  are  the  plants  present  there?  Use  good  number  of  stem  plants.  This  might  help.  you  need  to  out  compete  and  out  grow  the  algae  with  the  help  of  good  number  of  plants,  specially  using  stem  plant.  Also,  tell  us  about  the  fishes  and  what  do  you  feed  them  and  how  many  times  a  day.

This  algae  is  caused  by  excess  lighting  and  poor  CO2.  Your  light  is  very  high,  reduce  it.
This  kind  of  algae  has  nothing  to  do  with  fertilizers  so  continue  fertilizing.
Start  by  testing  your  tank  water  parameters,  esp.Nitrate  and  Phosphates  level.

Try  to  use  a  clean  tooth  brush  to  remove  the  algae.  If  a  certain  plant/moss  ┬áis  densely  tangled  with  algae  clip  off  the  parts  where  algae  is  tough  to  remove.
Start  making  water  changes  3  times  a  week  by  the  3rd  week  u  will  see  the  difference.
Also  clean  your  substrate,  feed  less  and  clean  your  filter  change  floss  (once  in  3  months).
It  is  recommended  to  add  zeolite/phosguard/clearmec,  etc.  in  your  external  filter.

Usually  hobbyists  use  excel  and  3  days  light  out  to  assist  them.
Take  into  acc.the  more  time  this  algae  has  been  in  your  tank  that  means  the  more  spores  it  has  produced  and  spread  so  u  will  need  a  lot  of  patience.

Thanks  all  for  your  valuable  opinions.

 Hi  Nidhi,
You  are  absolutely  correct  the  light  is  too  much  according  to  my  tank  volume  i  will  cut  that  into  2  tubes.  Am  located  at  Kolkata  and  not  very  sure  to  source  glutaraldehyde  here,  thus  i  dont  have  any  option  of  glut  treatment.

 Hi  Sandeep,
Tank  is  already  densely  planted  in  the  background  as  well  as  midground.  Algae  has  only  affected  the  foreground  area  where  my  HCs  are  located.

 Hi  Ganesh,
Will  be  going  for  a  3  day  blackout  from  now.  Tank  has  already   Otocincluses.  Fertilizer  dosing  is  already  stopped.  Finger  crossed  lets  hope  for  the  best.

 Hi  Robi,
I  am  using  a  pressurised  CO2  kit  with  Polen  Glass  diffuser  local  made  by  high  grade.

 Hi  Pravu,
Tank  is  already  densely  planted  with  Aciotis  acuminifolia,  Alternanthera  REineckii,  Bacopa  monnieri,  Echinodorus  berteroi,  HM,  Hydrocotyle,  leucocephala,  Hygrophilla  difformis,  Rotala  rotundifolia  and  java  moss  on  branch  wood.
Tank  has  around  15  Neons,  5  Amber  and  5  otos.

 Hi  Rony,
Thanks  for  the  advice.  Will  try  to  maintain  the  same.

   Smile
 Rgds,
 Sourav
