But!!!!  Shocked  I  am  getting  bubble/5mins.  Why?  No  blockers  in  the  middle,  otherwise  by  this  time  I  would  have  got  a  big  blast  in  my  home  :)

I  have  used  the  same  proportion  as  you  guys  had  mentioned.  I  have  the  raw  sugar  not  the  brown  sugar.
Yes.  It  stinks,  but  not  as  very  bad.  Probably  this  could  be  pretty  old  yeast  then!!!!

I  am  going  to  try  out  the  the  Angel  Yeast  and  post  the  pictures  soon.

In  Chennai,  you  should  get  at  least  1BPS  or  60BPM  because  of  the  temp  you  people  have  there..
In  Bangalore  it  will  generate  like  40  to  50  BPM..

You  will  need  a  controller  some  time  later,  remember  "  CAUTION  "-  if  your  yeast  starts  coming  from  the  outlet  pipe  into  the  tank,  then  you  will  have  to  add  another  bottle  with  water  besides  this  assembly.  Transport  all  the  gas  the  second  bottle  into  the  tank.  So  that  the  yeast  can  settle  in  the  second  bottle.  This  is  another  problem  in  DIY  CO2  reactors.  Sooneer  or  later  you  will  have  to  settle  with  a  pressurised  professional  CO2.  But  if  you  anticipate  the  precaution,  then  you  can  continue  this  very  modest  system  for  quite  some  time.

I  had  a  question,  do  you  guys  replenish  the  yeast+sugar  in  the  same  bottle  or  you  make  the  whole  mix  freshly  after  the  mixture  expires?

Yes  Garothmaan,  I  used  to  remove  all  but  the  last  inch  or  so  of  the  old  mixture  from  the  bottle  and  add  fresh  sugar  +  baking  soda  +  water  mixture  in  to  it..

It  is  better  to  throw  everything  out,  wash  with  water  and  put  in  fresh  brew.
The  reaction  in  the  bottle  produces  alcohol  and  when  alcohol  %  reach  high  the  reaction  stops.
If  you  are  not  throwing  out  old  mixture  then  you  are  starting  with  a  mixture  which  has  a  certain  amount  of  alcohol  already  in  it,  therefore  you  will  not  full  gas  from  your  new  mix.

The  water  might  have  been  too  hot  or  there  might  have  been  some  contamination,  that's  why  its  essential  to  boil  the  water  first  and  bring  it  to  luke  warm  before  adding  the  yeast..  I  recommend  cleaning  the  bottle  also  with  hot  water  so  that  its  free  of  bacteria  and  other  nasty  stuff..

Yes,  right,  I  cleaned  everything  today  and  restarted  a  fresh  bottle.  The  reaction  starts  early,  and  I  have  used  luke  warm  water.

When  I  used  Bakery  yeast,  it  worked  for  10  days  and  then  white  yeast  used  to  drop  out  at  the  expiry  time.  Anyways  thanks  all  of  you  god  bless  you  all.  Smile

Why  do  you  want  to  stop  it  at  night?
In  DIY  Co2,  the  yeast  produces  co2  day  and  night..  you  can't  stop  it,  but  if  you  don't  need  it  at  night..  you  will  have  to  let  it  escape  freely  by  disconnecting  from  the  diffusion  system.

thanks  Nidhi,  Is  it  ok  to  run  it  day  and  night...  Because,  I  heard  that  Plants   takes  Oxygen  and  sends  Co2  in  Night.  Is  it  ok  for  the  fishes  ?

 Ganesaa,
The  co2  produced  in  yeast  method  is  significantly  less  compared  to  what  is  dosed  in  pressurized  system,  so  it  wont  affect  the  fishes  much.
pressurized  system  are  shut  down  at  night  simply  to  save  the  co2  wastage  at  night,  I  have  come  across  people  running  this  24  hrs  with  out  any  problem  to  fishes,  but  normally  their  BPS  is  less..
But  in  your  case  you  cant  save  any  co2  so  at  least  you  can  reduce  the  inconsistency  by  running  it  24/7..

any  yeast  works,  you  just  need  to  activate  this
get  your  mix  ready  and  then  take  some  milk  and  water  with  little  bit  of  sugar  in  a  bowl  put  luke  warm  water  (same  temp  as  when  milk  is  warmed  for  curd)
u  see  bubbles  in  the  bowl  you  can  put  this  mix  in  the  bottle.  keep  the  bottle  in  a  warm  place.

Nidhi,  Thanks  for  your  guidance..  I  have  successfully  created  a  DIY  CO2  system....   Rock On

Garothmaan,  I  am  very  sorry  that  i  cannot  able  to  get  it  from  you  and  its  too  late.  My  plants  are  already  melting,  So  i  bought  the  airline  tube  ,  stones  ,  etc  from  the  LFS  itself...  thanks  brother.   Rock On

Co2  Bubbles  started  within  6hrs...  I  just  placed  near  to  the  Outlet  hose  and  good  diffusion.

Nidhi,  Is  it  ok  to  add  one  more  DIY  CO2  system  to  my  tank?.

Feel  crystal  clear  tank,  with  less  Dictom,  Would  like  to  post  the  Snaps  of  my  tank...  But,  I  cannot  able  to  transfer  the  images  to  the  computer  and  some  USB  problem....

Yes  Ganesaa,  you  can  use  two  bottles,  take  the  two  co2  pipes  from  the  two  bottles  and  connect  it  to  a  'T'  connector.  the  third  end  of  the  'T"  connector  goes  to  the  tank  pipe..
