 Golden  sand  can  later  compact  and  may  become  anaerobic  which  is  not  good  for  plants,   check  the   the  pio's  posting  and  read  the  3rd  point(  the  info  on  right  side)

 @dotfish  and  Nidhi:

 What  is  the  purpose  of  Dolomite?  The  procedure  given  by  Pio  states  its  only  for  pH  issues.
 Dolomite  is  CaMg(CO3)2.  So  i  guess  one  can  replace  it  with  CaCO3  which  is  readily  available.  All  natural  sources  of  Calcium  Carbonate  will  have  traces  of  Magnesium  in  it.

 pH  wise  both  will  have  a  similar  effect.

 dolomite  was  used  by  Aaron  for  the  calcium  and  magnisium  part  and  he  clearly  says  skip  it  if  you  have  hard  water,  so  its  mainly  calcium  and  to  reduce  acidity  of  water,  I  think  we  dont  need  this  for  the  kind  of  water  we  use

 @Jabba  Dolomite  is  not  bone  powder  ,  here  is  a   Wiki  Link  for  Dolomite   ,  have  a  look  at  it

 @sergiomiranda_2181
 If  you  plan  to  use  pots,  then  why  not  plain  mud  pots?  like  the  one  we  get  here  in  north  called   "kulhar".

 I  agree,  u  may  have  to  saw  off  some  top  portion  of  kulhar  to  reduce  the  height  I  think.  Sock  it  over  night  in  water  and  use  a  hacksaw  to  chop  off  the  top  portion  to  reduce  the  height  if  you  want  to  reduce  the  height

 Hi,

 Anyone  know  where  we  can  get  topsoil  in  Bangalore?  I  called  up  Indo-American  Hybrid  seeds  in  BSK  2nd  stage  and  They  seem  to  have  potting  soil.  Can  we  use  this?

 Thanks
