If you guys remember my other post on Mini M video journal, I mentioned I am about to start 2 nano tanks. One was there in that post (Named it as Scraped Rocks).
Now here goes the second one ""Root Shore". Finished the hardscape. Thinking on planting.... Most likely will use the leftovers from the other planting or cuttings from my other tank.
Not looking to get some new plant for this. Will see how it goes
But feel free to pour in your suggestions on plant and hardscape.
for now here is the hardscape snap.

Yes Mortis, its kinda having blue tint in that light.
Anyhow, I am planning to change that light soon I find a better one.
Looks like finding light is a tough job for nano setups. I checked in like 4 -5 LFS non have a good light for this nano setup |

Hi Alman,
Few suggestions -
Wood - The top end of the wood should be above the water surface if you want to give a trunk and its root effect. the base is giving a good root look however would suggest that you tie a similar looking wood which is straight enough to continue the "trunk" part of the wood and goes beyong water surface. If you cannot find another piece of wood, alternate option is to raise the substrate level or opt for a tank with half the height of current one...first two options are better than having a tank half the size of current one
Rocks - All of the continuing rocks can be arranged a lot more compact and close to the wood....all of them.
Flora - as simple as HC in front and parvula at the back would do great....choose something in similar line and should look great!!
good luck!!
Cheers,
Binesh |

Thanks Binesh for that detailed suggestion!!!
Actually I had that long trunk part in this wood, but cut that off. I want to have a cut tree look... So had to cut it out.
I want to make scape which should show how the cut tree surroundings will look after some time of cutting.
Some thing like this..
thats the reason for cutting the trunk part of the wood.
Planning to tie some willow moss in the root area and here and there in that cut part.
other areas will see :)
I want the sand also to be visible. I do not want to cover the carpet. |

You may have challenge in creating depth and perspective in the tank with the trunk chopped off and if not carefully choose the plants
