What  all  things  should  I  check  before  buying  I  timer?
I  basically  need  to  attach  a  solenoid,  light  and  air  pump  at  various  time(You  all  know  the  daily  routine).  So  will  one  of  these  be  enough?  Or  need  to  buy  different  timer  for  all  separately.

 Ebay  Link  for  a  timer

You  should  buy  different  timers  for  multiple  accessories  to  work  on  different  timings..

 Thanks!!!

 Hi
if  you  want  to  keep  planted  aquarium  with  co2+solenoid  you  can  have  one  timer  for  solenoid  +  light  for  the  same  timings.  Or  else,  if  you  want  to  keep  the  different  times  for  solenoid  and  light  you  should  have  two  timers.   For  air  pump  one  more  timer.

You  get  industrial  timers  with  multiple  outputs.  But  those  would  cost  more.  You  can  have  solenoid  and  lights  connected  to  one  timer.  If  you  want  to  provide  the  airation  only  at  night,  you  can  have  one  more  timer  to  connect  the  air  pump.

The  ebay  link  that  you  had  posted  above  is  a  single  channel  frontier  timer.  You  can  get  it  cheaper  in  the  local  electronics  shops  than  the  price  quoted  in  ebay.

I  have  seen  ISTA  Timer  with  two  sockets  each  having  individual  timer  setting  option.

Ebay  Link  (Its  cheaper  than  this  though  when  I  asked  in  LFS)

You  can  do  this  with  one  timer.

There  is  a  normally  on  pin.  You  can  connect  your  air  pump  to  that  and  connect  the  solenoid  and  light  to  the  other  pin.
This  will  help  the  air  pump  to  be  ON  during  the  time  when  the  timer  is  off(which  means  air  pump  switches  on  when  lights  go  off)

There  are  different  variants  of  Frontier  timer  available.  The  function  specified  by  Jabba  is  not  there  in  all  frontier  timers.  A  particular  model  has  that  functionality.  Do  check  it  before  you  buy.  These  timer  would  have  5  pins  at  the  back  side.  Where  the  normal  timers  would  have  only  4  pins  at  the  back.

 5  PIN  Timer

 @  radjanair

1  &  2  is  the  phase  and  neutral  input  and  3  &  4  is  where  you  connect  your  light/solenoid

In  the  link  that  I  had  posted  above,  you  could  see  PIN  3  &  4  is  NC  (Normally  Connected)  and  PIN  3  &  5  is  NO  (Normally  Open).

So  here  is  it  how  it  works.

Connect  the  air  pump  to  PIN  3  &  4  and  connect  the  light/solenoid  to  PIN  3  &  5.

When  the  timer  is  in  OFF  condition  the  PIN  3  &  4  being  NC,  the  air  pump  would  be  working.  And  when  the  timer  switches  ON,  the  NC  will  become  open  and  NO  will  become  closed.  So  the  appliance  connected  to  PIN  3  &  5  would  start  functioning.
