Well,  atleast  my  son  was  happy  to  have  a  new  addition  to  his  toys  -  my  hydrometer.  Its  clear  ,  has  numbers  and  moves  on  tickling.  Good  for  a  playing  child.
I  always  doubted  my  hydrometer  for  accuracy.  Took  it  to  the  LFS  where  I  purchased  and  he  told  me  it  was  perfect,  though  he  did  not  check  it  with  his  refractometer.  Took  it  to  other  shops,  Readings  were  off  scale.
FInally  took  it  to  the  beach  and  took  reading  using  real  ocean  water  -  Shows  1.018  That  was  the  end  of  it  and  my  son  had  a  new  toy.

Now  going  to  get  a  refractometer.  The  prices  are  rocketting  in  India  and  so  decided  to  source  it  through  friends  in  US.  I  need  help  from  experts  on  the  type  of  refractometer  to  buy.  Tried  in  amazon  and  got  a  ton  of  results.  They  have  some  specs  related  to  it  which  I  guess  is  the  salinity(0-10%,  0-28%  and  0-100%)  and  ATS  for  auto  temp  comp...  Not  sure  which  is  required  for  our  use.  I  do  not  require  a  ultra  precise  equipment  costing  a  bomb.  All  I  need  to  get  is  +-0.001  accuracy.
 Any  links  would  be  appretiated.
The  cheaper  Chinese/Hong  kong  based  refractometers  are   sub  2x  $  and  they  give  ph  meter  free  with  it(probably  both  are  not  moving  products).  Vertex  has  one  for  4x  $  which  looks  reasonable.
