|
|
I am looking for all natural terracing materials. I am currently using natural flat stones from Tada. The average size is about 6" x 6". I am looking for natural materials which are flat, about 6" to 9" high & about 18" long. Any thoughts ? |

Cuddpah stones come to mind.
You can also use Slate or Cork bark. Cork bark is impossible to find in India though and will have to be weighted down.
On the last trip to the Cauvery river side and Veeappan's territory I picked up wonderful slate rock. The layers come off at 6 mm thickness. Real great stuff. |

Slate has very sharp edges, which may injure fishes, right ?
How far is this place from Bangalore ? |

No, not really sharp edges - they are rough edges, you can smothen them a bit by rubbing on a cement floor if there are really sharp edges. |

About 120 Km. 2 - 2.5 hours drive. Roads are not too good but you can make it without much trouble.
If you are driving down to Bangalore you'll find a lot of cuddapah rock by the road side all the way after Ranipet and up Chittor Ghats. I picked up some on the way back from Chennai last month. It stabilised my car against over steer. |
