 Hi  guys/gals  Help

I  had  set  upped  my  tank  for  more  that  3  months  now.

 Link
 My  tank  for  2  months

heater  was  in  aquarium  for  a  week  or  two

last  2  weeks  it  started  getting  cloudy...
what  i  did  after  it  started  to  get  cloudy  ?  read  on

 1.  I  started  with  water  changes  without  any  luck...water  will  get  cloudy  in  hour  or  two  with  almost  same  intensity
 2.  I  tried  blackout  for  ~56hrs...again  without  any  luck

 Link
 Todays  tank  after  black  out

 Tank
 2x1x1  ft
 river  sand  substrate
small  4  watt  power  head  filter  with  ceramic  rings
no  Fertilizers...just  added  "plant  magic"  or  something  twice...2  ml  in  3  months
 DIY  CO2  1  bubble  per  2-3  secs

 plants  in  tank
5-6  red  and  7-8  green  cobomba
2  amazon  swords,  1  very  healthy  and  other  one  is  not  as  fast  as  1st  one
 6-7  bacopa
 24  dwarf  sag
 3  giant  sag
 1  unknown  steamed  plant

 moss  and  floating  plants
java  moss  tied  to  blue  bio  ball  and  ball  is  tied  to  rock,  so  its  float  below  water  level
Pellia  (Monosolenium  tenerum)  tied  to  rock
 Hornwort
 duckweed,

 4  frogbits

 fishes:
3  male  guppies  (1  died  in  blackout)
 4  female  guppies
 5-6  RCS
 2  Apple  snails
I  see  few  guppy  and  RCS  fries  after  blackout
had  two  Serpae  tetras  but  moved  them  before  blackout  as  they  were  molesting  male  guppy  who  died  in  blackout   Sad

fishes  are  eating  and  swimming  healthy

Can  any1  faced  this  kind  of  issue?
 should  I  add  heater?
should  T  let  nature  take  care?
Should  i  use  any  liquids  LFS  sells  to  clear  up  water?  (personally  i  dont  like  this  but  will  keep  this  as  last  resort)

 Hi,

At  first  I  am  unable  to  see  any  picture.

What's  the  filter  capacity  !!  Check,  it's  written  somewhere  in  the  filter  .....  like  650l/hr.

Do  you  have  any  wood  in  your  tank  !!  May  be  it’s  not  seasoned  properly....

All  I  am  saying  without  seeing  any  snap  of  your  tank.  Try  to  post  some  good  snap.......

Thats  algae-  Have  you  taken  that  glut  from  PIO?  if  you  have  then  dose  it.  change  the  water  and  do  not  add  any  ferts  for  now.  Cover  your  tank  with  a  bed  sheet  and  keep  it  in  complete  dark  for  2  days.

your  co2  is  not  performing  properly  +  your  filter  is  also  not  performing  to  the  maximum  limit.  Put  a  sponge  filter  for  a  while  with  the  other  filter.  buy  a  small  sponge  filter.  this  should  take  care  of  the  green  dull  water

what  I  meant  by  Blackout  is...
i  switch  off  lights  and  took  thick  bedsheet,  double  folded  it  and  covered  tank  with  it  for  56  hours....

did  not  feed  fishes  for  ~56  hours...no  peeking  to  check  if  fishes  are  doing  well.....but  they  did  well  except  one  male  guppy....

 Hi,

I  don't  know  why  it's  happening.  It  should  not.

 Let's  try  this.......

 >  Do  the  WC  100%.  When  you  do  the  WC  clean  the  filter  media  with  the  tank  water.

Except  ceramic  rings  what  are  the  filter  media  !!  Sponge  !!

 >  Clean  the  glasses.

 >  Don't  use  and  medicine  or  Fertilizers  or  plant  magic

 >  It  will  be  better  if  you  can  keep  your  fishes,  shrimp  etc.  etc  some  other  places  for  couple  of  days.

 >  Don't  switch  of  the  filter  .....it  should  run  24x7x365

 >  After  three  days  check  the  water.  If  you  feel  happy  leave  all  the  inhabitant.

 >  Always  do  the  control  feeding

 >  What  type  of  floating  plant  you  have  !!  Try  to  remove  for  these  3  days.....

 Hope  it  will  work......

Sure  i  will  try  this  out....
 I  dont  have  sponge,
i  do  very  controlled  feeding....i  feed  live  worms  using  sticks(big  wooden  toothpick  like  stick)  so  i  dont  drop  worms  at  bottom....
i  take  some  worms  on  stick  let  my  fish  finish  them.....in  3-4  sticks  they  dont  eat  any  further  so  i  remove  stick  and  dumo  food  again  in  jug  of  worm....

i  will  add  sponge  to  filter....and  my  filter  runs  24x7....

GLUT  -  Glutaraldehyde  is  an  organic  compound.  It  is  also  used  for  industrial  water  treatment  and  as  a  preservative.

We  generally  use  it  for  algae  control.  It  need  control  dosing  otherwise  if  you  have  shrimp  they  can  wipe  out.
