Id  say  ditch  the  lillies  (feed  your  goldies)  as  they  are  too  big  and  spread  out  for  a  small  tank.  Sort  out  you  similar  stems  in  bunches  trim  and  plant  only  the  top  4  inches  in  bunches  or  3  per  "hole"  keep  larger  leaved  plants  in  last  row  and  smaller  ones  in  the  middle.  Leave  the  front  open  for  swimming  space.  After  this  trim  regularly.

 +1  dotfish.
There's  a  plastic  bottle  behind  tank,  is  it  your  DIY  CO2?  Can  you  move  it  somewhere  just  to  keep  it  out  of  sight.?
Also,  the  stand  you  have  is  something  new  to  me.  Does  this  method  of  keeping  a  tank  help  in  the  long  run...?!  How  long  is  you  tank  on  this  stand?
 Sorry,  too  many  questions..!!!

For  a  person  who  has  started  planted  tank  in  2007  I  am  not  happy.  Now  it  is  time  for  some  scaping.  Even  for  for  a  wild  scape  there  can  be  a  little  planning  which  will  look  good(at  the  end  of  the  day  our  tank  should  be  the  beautiful  side  of  nature  to  make  it  suitable  for  a  living  room).
Sorry  for  being  straight  forward  here.
Also  that  driftwood  looks  veeeeeeeeeeryyyy  bad   Thumb Down   Thumb Down  .

Keeping  a  closed  hood  for  planted  tank  is  bad  and  you  would  be  already  knowing  the  reason.

If  you  feel  that  what  I  have  said  is  wrong  ignore  the  above  lines  and  see  only  the  below

But  remember  to  put  a  solid  marble  base  atleast  which  covers  about  80%  of  the  bottom  of  the  tank.

My  discus  tank  was  also  on  this  same  stool  it  was  also  3ft  tank  Thumbs Up
