Wow,  lovely  D.  rohani.  Great  Tabby,  welcome  to  the  world  of  Barbs  :)

BTW,  I  guess  the  red  tipped  Baril  is  a  variant  of  B.  bakeri.  I  think  I  have  posted  that  pic  somewhere  on  IAH...lemme  check.

For  the  red  tipped  Baril  you  mean  the  one  in  Bleher's  pic  or  something  else?

Btw  very  nice  canarensis   Smile   I  wish  I  have  this  lovely  assimilis   Crying or Very sad

I  think  Marcus  is  referring  to  another  picture.  Bleher's  specimen  has  only  a  tinge  of  orange/red  on  the  dorsal  and  anal  while  the  fish  in  question  has  bright  red  tips  to  the  dorsal, caudal  and  anal  fins.  It  also  has  2  rows  of  spots  as  opposed  to  the  single  row  in  Bleher's  pictures.  There  is  a  small  picture  in  Ornamental  Fishes  of  The  Western  Ghats  (NBFGR  Publication).  The  book  also  says  this  variant  is  found  in  the  rivers  of  northern  Kerala.

Has  anyone  found  or  collect  or  keep  Bleher's  fish?   Is  it  far  from  other  usual  bakeri, canarensis,  gatensis  ranges?

I  think  number  of  rows  of  spot  seem  to  vary  even  by  the  same  fish  at  different  age.   I  have  kept  some  bakeri  with  double  rows  that  lost  the  lower  row  with  increasing  size/age.

 @  Jithin  -  Thanks.

 @  Prabu  -  Thanks.

@  Nayak  -  Thanks.  My  Barb  fever  is  half  rivalling  my  Channa  fever  purely  motivated  by  seeing  yours  and  Marc's  fish.   Very Happy

 @  Jabba  -  Thanks.

@  Marc  -  Thanks.  Hahah,  indeed!  Doing  some  reading  to  see  what  could  be  added  next.  Regarding  prominent  colours,  why  don't  you  consider  some  liquid  minerals  to  give  that  bit  extra  to  the  fish  which  might  be  present  naturally  in  their  own  habitats?

@  Jithin  &  Jabba  -  Here's  a  FTS  shot,  a  very  basic  set  up  as  my  family  wanted  an  'Active  Tank'.  Will  shoot  a  video  soon.

Looking  good,Tabrez!   Thumb Up  great  photography  as  well.
All  the  fish  look  to  be  in  top  condition.  What  are  your  feeding  to  these  guys  in  the  above  tank?
Always  love  to  see  our  native  fishes.

@  Hrishi  -  Thanks.  They  are  given  Tetra  Bits,  Normal  pellets,  Artemia  Chunks,  Hikari  pellets  and  Live  bloodworms  every  now  and  then.

@  Marc  -  Thanks.  I  left  the  Lilies  and  Hornwort  purposely  for  them  to  feast  on,  surprisingly  they  are  very  slow  on  the  destruction  and  sometimes  not  interested  at  all.
