Im also running CO2 without a solenoid, no issues. No need to run the CO2 24/7, its a waste. Hope you are using the spreaybar with your 2217 to distribute the flow evenly
|
Am yet to install the eheim.. yes i will use the spray bar.
Talkin about the co2 if not 24*7 then it means tat i should manually turn on & off the regulator everyday.. and it would be left on for long, say i go to work at 10am return back by 10pm so turn it off then.. that would make it even more hectic than a DIy co2 setup.. |

If you have your lights on a timer then you can turn on the co2 while leaving for work and set the lights to come on 1.5 to 2 hrs after you leave and off abt the time you reach home so that will be abt 10 hrs photoperiod. Its a little long for a new setup so little less light or keep the CO2 on for longer in the initial stages of tank setup, say first 1-2 months and have short 6-8 hrs photoperiod. The excess CO2 will be ok during this initial cycling time and will benefit the plants |

so finally got the fish in the tank.. i know its bit early.. but considering that i had another set-up up before the present one using the same substrate for about 2 weeks before i pulled it apart to come up with the the one present now..
eheim is up and running..
the tank now has..
12 cardinals
10 x ray tetra(not sure of the name)
2 Assassin snails
2 RCs
2 yamato shrimps..
DHG seems to be growing slow but steady.. removed other stems that i had in the back ground.. placed a stone tied with moss at right corner.. |

Hey cut off the excess tubing on the eheim filter. The bends and loops you have now will just restrict the flow. |
