 Romi,

What  is  Vijayendra  Suryawanshi's  frequency  of  water  change?

 Regards,

He  judges  the  frequency  as  per  as  the  state  of  the  worms.  Like  fish,  you  can  learn  to  see  the  signs..  To  perk  them  up,  he  often  changes  daily.  ..

Yes,  i  did.  In  fact,  when  this  thread  started,  Deepak  G  had  received  the  worm  species  in  cocopeat  only.

However,  i  recently  tried  to  restart  the  cocopeat  culture  to  send  to  another  friend  (ishaan  pathania  in  jullundhur).  But  this  time  i  was  not  able  to  transfer  it  to  cocopeat  successfully.

This  happened  because  some  of  my  cocopeat  is  low  grade  and  contaminated  with  salt,  and  some  i  have  rinsed.  But  at  times,  i  can't  reember  which  is  which,  since  they  appear  the  same  and  i  didnt  label.

so  yes,  cocpeat  works,  if  it  is  salt-free.

If  you  feed  less  you  can  avoid  changing  the  water  daily,  in  my  experience  but  then  your  culture  will  produce  very  less.

With  so  much  food  around  the  bacteria  too  have  a  feast  and  the  oxygen  content  dips.  The  shallow  water  level  allows  the  worms  to  come  close  to  the  surface  and  get  some  air.

 I  agree.

Also,  the  worms  like  to  be  secure  in  the  scotchbrite  pads,  and  if  the  water  level  is  low,  they  can  acess  the  air  without  having  to  leave  the  pad  first.  that  gives  them  best  of  both  worlds,  security  and  strong  dose  of  oxygen,  and  they  multiply  faster

Since  your  aim  is  to  have  more  worms,  and  not  to  just  observe  them,  i  hope  you  try  and  give  them  the  best...
