 Hi  Guys,

I  performed  a  water  check  to  my  betta  spawning  tank:
Ammonia,  Nitrate,  Nitrite  all  at  Zero.

The  Ph  is  also  on  the  optimim  side  around  7.4Ph
The  fry  has  grown,  some  are  still  small,  I  guess  thats  the  way  it  is....  I  will  post  the  pics  soon.

I  got  BBS  couple  of  days  back.  I  have  hatched  it  and  started  feeding  them  from  today.

CAn  someone  suggest  me  the  exact  salt  content  to  be  added  to  one  liter  of  water  for  hatchning  BBS  for  better  hatch  rate?
 -  How  often  should  I  feed  them  BBS?
 -  Can  I  alternate  between  Microworm  and  BBS  every  4  hours?

Anything  else  I  need  to  take  care  of?

 -  Can  I  also  add  Green  water?  I  am  planning  to  go  on  a  tour  for  about  3  days.  Please  suggest  me  a  way  to  keep  them  alive  without  food  for  2  and  half  days?

 Thanks  Experts!!

One  table  spoon  of  rock  salt  for  half  a  liter  of  water.
You  can  feed  them  in  every  three  to  four  hours.  yes  you  can  feed  a  little  bit  of  m  worms.  You  can  take  care  of  not  feeding  them  too  much.
If  you  are  going  for  tour  ..  its  difficult  then.  You  can  try  with  green  water  and  dapnea  ..  but  not  sure  how  many  will  survive..  better  tell  and  instruct  someone  to  feed  the  fry.

 Hi  Deepak,

I  have  a  couple  of  apple  snails  in  there.  I  think  the  frys  will  feed  on  the  apple  snail  poo  for  the  days  I  am  away.

 Hope  they  will  be  fine.

 Quick  update  guys.

All  my  frys  are  fine.  I  left  them  with  a  couple  of  apple  snails,  a  couple  of  plants  and  the  aerator  on.

I  left  at  07:00  am  on  12/10/2013  got  back  at  02:00am  on  15/102013.

I  fed  them  some  microworms  at  7am  when  I  left  and  the  next  time  I  fed  them  was  at  2:00am  when  I  got  back.  That  is  after  69  hours  nearly  3  days  and  extremely  happy  to  let  you  know  that  all  of  them  are  merrily  swimming  when  I  checked  them.  Not  seen  any  dead  fry  just  yet.

I  have  their  BBS  ready  to  hatch  tomorrow,  till  then  I  am  feeding  them  Microworms.

Thanks  for  all  your  support  guys.

 Cheers,

 Tony

I  start  feeding  them  bbs  on  4th  day  itself.  And  when  I  see  any  aggression..  I  start  tubefex.
 and  then  palettes   follows.
How  big  is  your  tank?  your  water  change  schedule?  feeding  schedule?
they  should  be  fed  atleast  thrice  a  day.  They  digest  pretty  fast.  withing  three  hours.
if  they  are  already  two  cm  size  then  start  chopped  tubefex.

Thanks  Gents.  To  be  honest,  The  frys  are  not  consistently  of  the  same  size,  I  have  around  4  of  them  reaching  1.5cms  and  the  others  are  still  less  than  1  cm.  I  feed  them  atleast  3  times  with  BBS  and  Microworms.

I  think  I  will  start  using  dried  tubifex  from  today.

Sorry  for  my  delayed  response,  I  had  been  a  bit  busy  with  personal  work,  that  doesn't  mean  I  havent  been  feeding   my  Frys   Smile

I  will  hopefully  post  pics  of  them  today  itself.

 Cheers

Presenting  my  54  days  old  Betta  Fry.

 1.  He  is  a  real  poser,  isn't  he?

 2.  The  School.  See  the  size  variation.

 3.  The  Big  boy  among  the  lot.

FYI:  In  Image  2  the  green  stuff  on  the  little  stick  is  algae  collected  from  my  local  pond.  Just  as  a  test  to  see  if  the  betta  fry  feed  on  them.  I  have  noticed  that  the  smaller  fry  nibbles  on  it.

Any  suggestions  and  constructive  comments  are  always  welcome  guys.  Thanks  for  your  continuous  support.

 Cheers,

 Tony

You  need  live  chopped  tubefex.  And  you  can  introduce  hikari  food.  Or  maybe  tetrabits.  Their  few  threads  of  Pio  for  original  tetrabits.  Read  those  first.
BTW  ..  good  spawn   Very Happy

THanks  for  that  Deepak.  Errmmm,  Im  not  sure  where  to  get  hold  of  live  tubifex  worms.  I  have  genuine  Tetrabits  complete  with  me.  I  think  I  will  stick  with  that  for  now.

 cheers
